I was eyeing it but the stainless steel case looks...not right.
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
I think there's a very detailed write up on spotting snowflake frankens.. you could refer to that. There's also AM hands with the wrong length, another point to look out for.

I didn't really pay much attention, apart from the very nice condition.
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
yes read all those, maybe to be fair must see it in person. 5k is actually a fair price if all parts original to watch. would have made a nice pair (no date) with my 5513...

Ya it does looks good esp for a snowflake and of this variant. Its the same model as mine. Note tudor subs prices varies greatly from

model to model of different era, late 60s to 80s,with the round

lollipop dial (more common model, tudor shield) costing less.

2k sgd might be possible for the model but its only in excess 2k.

The old variant tudor rose logo variant subs are priced on high side.

And for a snowflake, prices have been staying up, expect prices from 3k plus to 4k. Though its possible to get one for slightly under 3k.

locally prolly those 2nd hand watch shops (k2,ATC bencoolen, bencoolen's chun lee watch repair, other bencoolen 2nd hand watch shops etc )...else usual local forums

as for the tudor snowflake case ,it seems ok to me as I took glances at those pics. correct case, crown guards, engraved backcase wordings etc... but like to knw more abt your concern,we can learn together mah.. ;)
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
thanks bro, I been looking out at usual haunts but not easy to find....

the case does not look like the usual stainless steel of lolex quality....the nicks and scratches (which are acceptable) seems to reflect an inferior quality of alloy normally associated with 70's cheap watches....not sure if it is the photography or lighting which is why I qualified by saying should see in person.

almost hooted to pair with my 5513...any advice? 4K+ is acceptable to me.
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
I am not that familiar with rolex subs yet but for a 5513,4k+ is a good good price. Usual pprice depends from beatup to good cond..but usual range can be from 6k plus onwards.

for the tudor sub,its really an old piece and even for mine there are also nicks and small dings associated with wear by previous owners(assume career divers or working in some industry)as you know ppl then dont buy to keep but rather buy to wear on their daily job.

I feel that its just a case of an original in lesser condition, dings and scratches meaning hard wear and unrestored piece. yup best would be to see it in person to feel the watch as a whole.
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
bro Gecko ,do you mean the last pic (side view) of the case where there is some reflection and shows the dings and scratches? kinda look like cheapo 70s chrome surface?

think its just photography effect..

1.6mil series & abit history... ;)

Metres First:-

End 1966 ( 1,5xx,xxx ) --- Gilt dials were replaced with the Matte metres first dial, which continued till around 1969 ( 2,3xx,xxx). Some believe that it went all the way till 2,7xx,xxx...but this is doubtful & collectors shy away from anything above 2.3 million.

This pc price is still ok as believe this is the late production till 90s...

Russia2all has secured a very small quantity of the final edition of the Sturmanskie Ocean Russian chronograph. As the name implies, this is the last time this famed watch will ever be produced. We are offering these in a private sale to our current customers only. The product will check out like any other, but this link is only available by private email. As these are the last of this model that will ever be built, we are unable to offer any additional discounts.

how's the finishing/case of volmax watches? thinking to get an okeah

got my levenberg version of strela yesterday, quite disappointing, its quality abit lower than maktime, should get the poljot international version instead
Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Non-Japanese Watches
My Okeah has pretty good finishing, volmax is not bad... I don't know about JL versions but to me, he's just a standalone entity that sources for parts and put together a watch.
