For example my SINN U2 which i have since flipped, runs at from +6s to +10s a day when worn / kept on winder / in watch box, it tends to lose time when placed crown up an gain when place dial up. This is out of COSC spec but within manufacturer spec, so how to regulate? They will say it's within their stated tolerances. My other non-COSC pieces are my seikos with 7S26 movements, orients, oris, tissot etc, all run out of COSC specs but within manufacturer specs hence cannot get 3rd party to regulate if i dont want to risk voiding my warranty.....[/quote]

Have to wait till tonight... Seems like it will not be as expensive as predicted direct. WUS indication is €1400 with the 19%VAT. So it seems like €1135 (S$1999 +shipping +GST should be <S$2300 direct DISCLAIMER - may need to add another S$100 +/- for credit card charges depending)

That's the rough price i calculated as well...

Considering that this is a 10th yr Anniversary Edition, plus... an annual COSC Limited Edition...

Had sent an email this morning to G.S. Now have to wait till, roughly 1500hrs here for his reply @ 0800hrs Germany time...

Price is not bad for the specs but for the Steinhart brand many will feel that it may not be worth because of the choices that are available at that price point. I wish it were a smaller size but oh well 8-)

The price is certianly wah wah wah... quite high, but yet justifiable becos of the premium Soprod movement, brass case, as well as the see thru back case with the kind of thickness that able to withstand 300m WR pressure... something that not commonly seen elsewhere with such a price on entry level dive watches...





TISSOT's SEASTAR commands a little much higher price...

With exception of a little feel of "class upgrade" through cosmetic appearance, personally i felt there's something missing.

The Arabic number indices didn't really bring much of "Vintage" theme, the use of the diamond crown from the Aviation watches drags this piece much further away from the "Marine" theme which the watch was originally intended to be...

How popular it can going to be, depends on the eyes of the beholders. At the selling price of 837eu(with shipping to SG), and with such "minor upgrades"... Let's hope that this will strike a chord with potential buyers... ...[/size] :roll: :roll: :roll:

Tempting but I rather they use a standard movement and make it more affordable.

Think I will wait for a bronze pilot chrono instead. Hopefully sandwich dial.

the Longines style italic Arabic number font makes the STEINHART Marine Chrono more classik-y... blends well with the "leaf style" hands as well...
