I'm just wondering if these are rhodium plated. Cos I understand from several local watchmakers they have faced issues with rhodium plating before. Apparently it flakes over time and damages the movement.

So no difference except for the cosmetic improvements on the movement itself. Gives those who misses out that last time round a chance to obtain a bronze flieger.

...Some of the other finishes that will be available right away are radial brushing, circular brushing, sandblasted finish, and perlage(hopefully in different circle sizes as well). There are some other finishing options that may or may not appear before the holidays. Colouring options which will be available right away will be plain/naked brass, copper plating, palladium plating(silvery colour), 24k yellow gold plating, and oxidized(greyish tone). I am hoping to also add rose gold plating and [size=111]ruthenium plating(grey anthracite colour)[/size] to the mix shortly.

New "in house" movement, the ST 5. Seems like a 2824-2 clone from specs though.

How much would the price difference if they started with these in house movements. If they have almost the same specs with a eta calibre, would we just be paying for cosmetic changes?

This release gets a lot of mix feelings. Some likes alot, some don't, i myself is in a dilemma.

Here, in SG, i believe there will be quite a number of folks may had been expecting a release @ 40mm case size, a little smaller, yet close to the original with minor difference.

Apart from size I think they should have offered this model with an acrylic crystal. A sapphire crystal on a watch with that much vintage cues just doesn't seem right to me.

So far all the seiko watches i,ve mod i,ve left the hardlex crystal alone, unless it gets scratched then i change sapphire but comparing the ones i have sapphire with inner ar only, doesn,t look different to hardlex? Although i agree those with outer ar look nice with the blue hue, but then again outer ar tends to wear off over time as well?

Steinhart's staff upload of the latest release in with different straps, which the company's owner will be strapping for early X'mas dinner.

Rogue, you are a hardcore supporter of gnomon already. It is different as the rest of us are buying only a fraction of what steinhart's you buy above other brands gnomon carries. We know you may not be the top buyer but you are up there within their VIP list so it is different for you vs. many here. Service is not the same. :)
