Make your own leather strap

Re: Make your own leather strap
Good contrast, excellent diy :D .

Now how about a bund pad ?
Re: Make your own leather strap

"sellwatch"

Sinner korkor, i like the pattern on the leather man!!! Stitching very swee also.

Personally i feel the tail abit too long, if shorter than swee swee bo chao cui liao.

"watchlooker"

Not bad looking though....

But the tail can be done better.... make shorter taper not long taper if not make it all square. Stitches are just nice, can add one line between the two parallet stitches at the lug side to balance the overall look of the strap and not forget the buckle side too.

Just my one cent view nia...

ya I think tail might be a bit too long. Will improve on that.

Thanks bros
Re: Make your own leather strap

Re: Make your own leather strap
Meimei, I actually DIY a "stitching pony", make up of two wooden planks and a clamp from daiso. The stitching pony is used to clamp the glued strap overnite and also used to hold the strap in place for stitching. Search stitching pony in google and u can see how it look like :)

Holding the strap in place to stitch is easiler.

Will put up photo tonite if u r keen to take a look.

so cool.

i keep thinking how m i going to hold the leather while i stitch. so after i apply the glue, then i'll need to let it stay overnight before i can do the stitching? y can't just let it stay awhile then stitch it?

gonna get the stitching pony 1st before i start my practice..

Re: Make your own leather strap
Korkor, can you re-stitch a paros strap?

I want to change the brown stitching to black. Possible?

Didi, no offence. I think its not worth the effort to do a re-stitch on a Paros, it cost less than $15 nia wor. The black thread will cost about $8 loh.... Hehe :P

Moreover, paros strap is machine made one, even if I can re-stitch on it, it will not look as refine as before cos my workmanship is quite rought, to be honest

Wondering what colour thread will look nice on this light brown (dirty veg tanned) colour strap? It's a nice looking strap, don't wanna mismatch the colour and ruin it....

Any suggestion? So far I only got black, dark brown, white and red colour thread. Black colour look kinda boring..... White like cannot make it, dark brown very safe colour, red might look alright.......

Or like CEO suggested? Navy blue?

Any feedback for this black leather strap with red colour stitches?

Workmanship double cfm room for improvement. How about the design? The thread used too thick for your taste? Tail design look funny? Keeper too thick? Overall acceptable?

Good or bad just shoot! Appreciate your feedback!

Thanks in advance!
