At one stage was considering making my own straps. But question is where to find the leather straps :lol:



Searched the web for leather distributors, can't find. Even spotlight at plaza sing doesn't sell raw leather materials. So had to give up that idea. Any bros got lobang? :D

U can try the leather shop @ jln kledek. another wan at heereen. n those guys on leather thread hwz.



Price wise there's not fix std as ya most likely buying a small pc only. which they will cut from the bulk roll.

The most valuable part of the pouch are those part with stamping of some kind. esp name initials, unit, date......



Some stuff are not suitable like belt, usually very worn n cracked!

To be frank, not easy to make leather strap. First U need to have the right tools to do it. And those tools u can only order online, can't find it in sg cos no demand in sg, if can find locally the price sure high one.



Secondly u need the skill to do it. Need to know how to do it like saddle stitching, how to poke the hole using awl b4 stitching, how to glue.... Blah Blah Blah :lol:

Need a lot of time to practice.



I did some straps and small leather item like leather band b4. I can only say my workmanship cannot make it. Kekeke



Really appreciate those hand made leather craft with very fine workmanship. Expansive but I think worth evey penny of it even thou its those unbranded one.

very true..... i tried to do a simple pleat which i seen him do with ease, i did for 3-4 hours at his shop then managed to finished with lotsa error in between.....

Think jns is a couple team from taiwan, operating from their home on the west side of the island.



Strap66 Anthony is a 1 man show aso from his home in amk.



Rays strap is at jurong pt, does mostly stitchless exoctic skin straps.



Last but not least, there's a company of really old fellows in a industrial building along sims ave, they do repair or touch up for all the branded bags via their agent cum watch straps for the high end watch shops like hr glass,cortina. only via appointment, n min 3 mths waiting time.

I got my tools from eBay. IMHO, if you just wanna make a strap for your hubby, it will be very wasteful to buy the tools.

I think this leather will work out very well on your vostok. The mould stains on the leather match the dive bezel perfectly.

My DIY. As roo7 said, very raw :)

As you can see, minimum stitches, cause I know my stitching sucks big time. :lol:

I would want to try full stitch one of these day. Can't find time to practice stitching lah. Need a lot of practice to make it nice nice uniform. And yes I learn my lesson, u need the right tool too.



Thanks to internet, now u can easily get information in doing anything!!! In my early days into leather craft, all trial and error one.
