5) Needles



Still left out quite a few basic tools... :oops:

he looks quite hooligan though, calls himself Barb.... but actual fact, quite shy wan!!! :D



he does more tools, leather, concho, accessories sales than Rahmat, Lotsa leather hobbyists like to look for him....



though his hrs kinda weird....., 7pm onwards till 3-5am in the morning.



when he doesnt answer calls, either not in town, or in his 24hr sleep again!!!!

ya, because the hole shape is nicer.....



im using sewing machine to get the thread holes, faster, but its a round hole...the thread cant overlap nicely....



or maybe i need tu pull the thread harder?

yes, there are numbers that differentiate the thickness... use thicker one for bigger watch, those 22mm strap and above can you thicker one....

I would like to share some tips regarding stitching which I pick up. Pardon my ang Moh hor.



1. In order for your stitches to be neat and uniform, of course first thing is the spacing for your holes MUST be the same and the line must be straight.



2. You must poke the hole using diamond prong or diamond awl to get that nice uniform slanting stitches. Those who are really into fine stitches will not use prong cos it tends to create bigger hole than awl.



3. If you started off with left hand needle go in first then follow by right needle, then thru out the stitching it must be the same way. The way you pull out the needle also play a part! How you pull out for first hole it must be uniform thru out.



4. How hard for you to pull a stitch, the strength must be the same for every stitch.



5. Practice! Practice! Practice!

you mean using 2 needle better?



cus mine using 1 needle for now..... and its a pain in the a** after i need to go through the same holes again, that has already thread.



and im using old sweing machine for the holes. the gabs from 1 hole to anothers are the same size.



maybe u should try using 2 needles this afternoon.....will do again!

Yes you need two needle for saddle stitching

I used thread that is 0.8 - 1 mm in thickness. IMO, thick thread the strap will look more rugged, thin thread the strap will look more refine.

Stitching tips:



Have you ever wonder how long is the thread that you need to prepare for a stitch?



Answer: 4 times the length of the stitches.

make two short lenght of leather and attach it to the seiko diver clasp... like those silicone + deploy clasp.. but instead of silicone, use made-to-measure leather!

Any feedback for this black leather strap with red colour stitches?

Workmanship double cfm room for improvement. How about the design? The thread used too thick for your taste? Tail design look funny? Keeper too thick? Overall acceptable?



Good or bad just shoot! Appreciate your feedback!

Not bad looking though....



But the tail can be done better.... make shorter taper not long taper if not make it all square. Stitches are just nice, can add one line between the two parallet stitches at the lug side to balance the overall look of the strap and not forget the buckle side too.



Just my one cent view nia...

Sinner korkor, i like the pattern on the leather man!!! Stitching very swee also.



Personally i feel the tail abit too long, if shorter than swee swee bo chao cui liao.
