Make your own leather strap

Re: Make your own leather strap

"sinner1974"

Done! Handmade full stitch strap, about 4mm thick. The stitches still not very neat, must practice more.

Time to look for rose gold or pvd 22mm buckle.

This looks awesome!!

If u need more practice, u can make me one exactly like that?? 22/22mm!

Not neat is ok... Makes it look rugged :D

Well done bro!!

dear sinner1974 kor kor,

got one qn to ask. how u hide the end knot of the thread?
Re: Make your own leather strap
Make one more loop on the last hole, leave about 2mm length then cut, burn the end part and press it. If u use cotton or linen thread then cannot burn, got to use white glue to hold in Place.

U might wanna consider Buying beeswax to wax your own thread. The beeswax can used to burnish your strap edges too

To save some cost, just use a candle stick..... Round the thread there and pull it slowly.... And do few times, normally I do 2 times.

U guys lucky that u can find prong, none here..... So I use the old method way....

What's ur old method way? Care to share?? Use candle stick? The thread wun catch fire?? *pondering*
Re: Make your own leather strap
you need wax so the thread wont tangled right? while u stitch through the leather.....

i dont use sprong, but i use and old sewing machine to create the holes for stitching, but of course, using prong will be neater!

and something like prong for buckles holes.
