oOsiMm collection

Bulova Superior 2000
This is the Bulova 'Superior 2000' 10ATM quartz watch. Its of boy size (perhaps lady's) at 35mm from case to crown and bracelet is tapered from 19mm to a 14mm at the clasp. Its small indeed...but comfortable watch for me.

What attracted me to this small, slim cased piece is the

-black gold color combination on the dial, case and bracelet

-nice Bulova logo 'gold' medallion on clasp

-signed Bulova and screw down crown

-orange second hand

-smooth bezel turning for this 'diver style' watch

-gold borders on hour markers and hands

but as expected for such used watch, there are scratches on crystal,patina/wabi on dial, worn PVD areas on case and bracelet....not really suitable for collectors with 'man size watch ego'... lol

nice pickup

always have my eyes on this particular seiko 5 model
Another arrival of 'accidental hoots'...
and they are the dark blue 6139-6000 and gold plated 6139-6012(with 'chronograph auto on dial hence 6012 else it be 6139-6015)

*By no means I am acknowledgeable at all with this 6139 chronographs as I have only a few of them before in early 2010 plus some common 6138.

so I appreciate feedbacks from bros here,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is one of the 'accidental' bump-into and decided to take some risk in buying them after some on site 'noob level authentication'...looks ok for me though with possibility of franken/fake parts.. I may be wrong. Still looks and runs ok hence seems wearable to me. Most importantly, the seller is a nice guy to talk to and I've enjoyed his friendship throughout these years.

here are some pics:

thanks bro and nice to see you ard..

anyway that are not consider rare bah...maybe the gold one is uncommon nia.. rare one is the silver 6139 pougue+ certain JDM variants?

And the more common 6139 chrono model(wrong caseback on mine? 6139-6002 instead of 6139-6000,also probably aftermarket insert?) but nvm lah...

your caseback should be correct bro, base on the link (provided its correct too) below. The 6139-6002 is the gold colour one.

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f366/1970s-seiko-6139-600x-chronograph-variations-review-287754.html
Re: oOsiMm collection
thanks sinner korkor...

and also found(google) some collectors had caseback of the dark blue pogue with 6139-6000 and some 6139-6002. And also yellow pogue with the mixture of the two caseback numbers. read somewhere before that it depends on where the watch is marketed or some sort of regional code rather than exact color model of the watch. So means a 6139-6000/6139-6002 each has 2 color variation each? no concrete reason....I can be wrong..
Re: Another arrival of 'accidental hoots'...

nice catch bro...bt mine ish diff frm ur as w/o ''Water70MResist''

mine oso read as 6139-6002

Re: oOsiMm collection
yup the link i provided....

proof dial - 1970

resist dial - 1971

plain dial - 1973

mine is the blue dial but caseback 6139-6005.... my inner bezel cfm wrong one :)

Re: oOsiMm collection
nice watch Aiken bro....

I am starting to think that its really regional coding for these pogues.. 6139-6000 , 6139-6002, 6139-6005? etc comes with more than 1 color version each hence the seiko catalog shows 6139-600X rather than exact model number. Also googling one model number will show guys having both the yellow and darkblue version..

just read this;

http://www.network54.com/Forum/78440/thread/1213380915/1213417245/6139+6002-6005+whats+the+difference-"0" is the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM). A "9" indicates North America. I think "5" may be Europe, and "2" may be Australia. So the only difference between a 6139-6002 and a 6139-6005 is that one was likely originally exported to Europe, and the other likely went to Australia. Other than that, they are absolutely identical. The case number has nothing to do with the date of manufacture, though the month and year of manufacture can easily be determined using the serial number. Regards, Aaron

yah blue dial on a 6139-6005 seems less common.. so who has the silver 6139 pouge... :P

*sinner, why u say ur inner bezel confim wrong? Its common to have a faded inner rotating bezel for these models.. or something else you mean? :?
vintage to current divers book (Japanese)
...has landed. Very thankful to Big-e bro =D

A surprise article from the book(which I have been searching for sometime in Yahoo Japan Auction)regard the Orient 1000m king diver that I have.

Re: oOsiMm collection
:o nice King Diver! Interesting book too... can you get the gist of what it says about the watch?
Re: oOsiMm collection

:o nice King Diver! Interesting book too... can you get the gist of what it says about the watch?

actually there was already someone who translated the writeup on this watch...so agar agar I know the story behind his collection n orient watch

anyway still can read the small words of katakana and kanji (mixed chinese words)mixed ard the writeup... kinda like piecing up his story tis way :) though I still have those Japanese language learning book/papers from decades back while doing the lvl 4 JLPT.
6139-600x duo
pair of 6139-600x chronographs( tons of scratches on crystals but seem the natural lighting 'hid' it well)

Dark blue 6139-6002 from 1971March,'resist' dial with 6139B movement.

Yellow 6139-6000(pogue) from 1969 July, plain dial with 6139A movement. It has a notched case(early model from 69 to 71),correct 2 piece second sweep hand and 'waterproof' on caseback. Seems correct for early model except the dial/inner rotating ring. The rotating chapter ring+dial should either be a black+black 'proof' dial or a yellow+yellow 'proof' dial.

note the 2-piece second hand

latest in: 1970 waterproof notched case variant
(hr+min hands replaced.. but still ok to me)

Re: oOsiMm collection
Its been sometime since I got a swiss watch for wearing... recently got this eterna-matic KonTiki . military ones are really too pricey, make do with this one for time begin..

size is consider the bigger size(not that common but not rare) for dress watch kontiki. 39mm include crown. The smaller one(for the late 50's era) would be like 35mm-36mm max include crown.

oOsiMm collection
That's a really classy piece!
Re: oOsiMm collection
ETERNA? Quite rarely seen outside wor....
Re: oOsiMm collection
yup 'kontiki variant from eterna-matic . not easy to spot on collector's wrist but definitely in their collection as its one of the sought after brand for vintage watch wearers.

there are a lot selling in eprey and also a minefield somehow, just like vintage omega. =( seems quite hard to find untouched eterna dial nowadays.

*there's one our in sales corner mah...grab it while price its as such.
