I found it in a shop at the back of a very small mall in some rural housing estate.

I went back to the shop.

1500 for the SUN019 (rubber strap)

1600 for the SUN023 (stainless steel bracelet)

Then I realized that my wife took my wallet. The boss laughed and we had a long talk instead while looking at watches.

According to him, he would rather I get an eco-zilla - not just because he's a citizen fan but because he makes more money on the dollar on citizen compared to seiko as citizen has less 'issues'. Apparently the kinetic seiko's have a lot of lemons.

Perhaps your wife after tagging along with you in this hobby trail had come to a point understanding the issues of buying overseas when after sales warranty could matter in days ahead?

If you go to All Watches, after the 15% discount... you maybe pay lesser than 700? You buy in bolehland, you pay certainly lesser than $650, but warranty will be an issue if ThongSia won't honor overseas purchase...

If it's the blue international warranty card and the shop is an AD then okay one la. I experienced before with indo warranty card. I don't support ALL watches at least their Aptimos sub brand which carries the Seiko and other affordable brands as I have found they mark up their sticker price before offering discount for Seiko. They were also selling Casio GShock Camo models at 100% mark up before discount..that's just unacceptable behaviour of an AD.
