so i popped over to k2 this evening to meetup with 2 bros here, johnwongtw & drew72. Had a good chat with them :D



before any of them arrived, I was loitering around the shop,looking around but nothing new hence I chat to Mr Goh, 30mins passed and there was a customer so mr goh went to serve the customer..so I just browsed thru the display..



EHHHHH!!!!!! one model particularly struck my attention! I opened the drawer & took out the watch to have a closer look



I was amazed & momentarily shocked by the watch.



It was love at first sight...usually I will not be swayed by current models so easily but this particular piece just blows me away.



It's a new model with a new movt. :twisted:

Is that the 4R37? Looks... interesting. Can't yet say if I like the small 24-hour hand yet, but it's certainly not something you would normally find... definitely not in Seiko's! ;)



Does remind me of the Seikosha pocketwatches & their small seconds tho.

yes Cooliend bro, you are spot on. It's the new Seiko Superior using the 4R37 movt. Hacking & handwind function :twisted: It's these functions that attracted me to buy this piece. It was really love at 1st sight man...







the watch measures 44mm w/o crown! Somehow, Seiko had broke away from the habit of reusing back the same case over & over again. The sliderule bezel turns smoothly, winding is just ok, of course not as smooth as a 6R but still bearable :)











switched the rubber strap(surprisingly the strap felt like a rubber silicon strap) to a tan leather strap :D





there are 3 pieces in his shop, from wat Goh told me.

i thought it was a 171 as well so I did not take a second look..when I was lazily looking down to the preowned section, suddenly I noticed the window then i realised 'Hey, it's not a 171!'

this 7002 is probably 10-15yrs senior(one generation gap) than an skx171....

IMO yes.and this is first time I knw a slide rule bezel on a normal watch with 24 hr subdial.... a breakthrough in Seiko design.. doesnt have the rather defined seiko design... wind+hack+huge+VFM

Was planning to go K2 change batt for my 7A28,38,48, and just browsing, chatting. No intention to buy anything. But when I saw the 4R37 my resistance waivered. Then I had a peek into Mr Goh's treasure chest(his watchbox). That was when any resistance left crumbled. Surrendered. An orange dial Land Monster. Damn chio, sitting in the case smiling at me. The next thing i know i was in front of ATM. lol

I think the happiest man is Goh himself. 3 pieces arrived and sold on the same day.



TS sales guy was there when I bought mine. Goh ordered more from him and should arrive on Monday/Tuesday.

Thought the superior on bracelet looked very cool too lei. Unfortunately i had to choose between Monster and the bracelet piece. Monster 1st, have been looking to snag an orange dial sweetie for 2 months liao. Somemore on bracelet knees weak.

yah bro,I was there with the CEO and John.. then talked abt this 4R37 piece (hmm..waiting for a internationally accepted nickname for this),its functions and lotsa questions I asked too....cos I never knew abt this movement and for a few seconds didnt knew it was a Seiko when CEO handed one to me.Thought it was some swiss watch(cos was at an angle/degree,didnt see seiko tags etc). The first look kinda 'wah...this is Seiko??'...really never expect new seiko design is like that de..
