Wah... mai play play 8L75 wor (not to be confuse with 8L35)..... u are probably the first one to own a credor here.... great hoot I should say! ;)

Ha, thanks. :). Definitely not the first, though; I think Yeoman has a GCBR995 (w/o bracelet), and there's likely a number of others who are a bit shy... ;) This one's actually not even technically a 'Credor'; it's from before Credor became it's own identity (as the high, high end of Seiko's family), so no where near what the current models are worth (which are insane).

There is that, but it'll take at least until CNY to get in... and I've also picked up a SARB043. ;) ($400++ a reasonable price, what... :P)
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)

51! :). Awesome watch, with a deep navy blue crocodile-like strap with lighter blue accents. Better pictures over the weekend.
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
I have this watch too.

LOL! The last few watches you bought --Landmaster 10th year anni, Brightz ,Orient Poseidon, Credor Phoenix and this SARB can be found here:

Always wanted a Roman numerals watch, this one fit the bill perfectly, and was 4xx-ish, so a great price. What's not to like? ;)

PS. You don't have a Sawtooth, right?  ;)

Yes, I have. In fact, I have two other variants of this watch.

SARB027 and SARB031 - love the silver and off white dials on these two. Real classic!

Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Korolev, the watch's MSRP is Y50,400 or S$805. Usually you can get a ~20-30% discount from most stores. If you went to Taka, however, I have to say the prices there are a bit higher than my liking, though they too need to pay rent.

Try Big Time's Sims Ave store next time, or one of the 3 Japanese sellers: Higuchi, Seiya or Chino.

And which SARB are you looking for next? ;)
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
thanks CoolieND... ive been going to big time at sims now :)

lately, i feel like my mind needs to be put at ease with a sarb031.. i once approached bro devil00 but i withdrew in the end.

thongsia was willing to help me order but itll cost almost a grand :(

i know these are discon models and would sometimes require a premium.

im also considering the sarb065.

i have the sarb017, sarb029, sarb043 now.

looking at an orient star WZ0251EL but i read somewhere that its good to have a focused collection.

makes a lot of sense, also less taxing on the pockets. say if i started on one os piece.. it'll snowball easily.

totally poisoned.!

The sole birdie in the group

may i ask which model is this? is this a sea-gull?

thank you!
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
korolev, sorry I missed your post earlier. Yes that is a Seagull, the M177S. I had thought it was going to be discontinued, but it looks like they're still making it? It is a very nice watch aesthetically, but I do have some concerns about the QC on it....

With regards to the SARB031, unfortunately yes, prices are significantly high because they're now disconned. Hope you find one to your liking though! (Love that SARB017, btw)
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Hmmm, so, quick question: What's better than a nice Tic Tac Edition TrekMonster?

How about TWO Tic Tac Edition TrekMonsters?

Unfortunately, not blue lume!
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
wat's a Tic Tac version? why u need 2?
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Hmm, guess I need a better picture of the watches...

Anyway, one of the three TicTac Trekmonsters (White and Red also were there):

And two, coz I got one, then saw the other and jumped for that too. :P

no worries CoolieND =) yeah it looks really nice.

doubt ill start on the other watch brands. trying my best to keep the collection focused (seiko and perhaps OS) so that i don't spend too much.

lets say if i started on the classic seagulls, i'll get tempted to get more seagulls :D

the tictac is really cool! or should i say tictacs!! :D

Care to share what QC concerns you have about the m177s?
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)

Brightz chrono?

Yes, saw it near mint on Y!JA, started at 50% off marked price and was thinking about it (though not too seriously), but then they kept dropping the price, and once it got to <40% I just had to pull the trigger. :P

Wait till Sunday, I can get my good camera out, and hopefully some sunshine. :)

M177S, it is not smooth as the second hand sweeps between 50 and 55 secs. It's fairly easy to see just watching it go through the minute. Of course, it's a <$100 watch, so not sure you can expect much in that range... I would definitely expect the other Seagulls of a higher price to also come with higher quality / QC.

this is similar to the Brightz chrono i wanted (SAGK001)...

i know these are discon, but can it still be found in stores in Japan? NOS?
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Very very nice collections u have there.
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Hmm, looks like no time this weekend for a full session of photos, last-minute trip to Malaysia... Maybe next weekend. :|

Still, it's kinda hard figuring out which I need to include, my comp went down taking the catalogue with it, so I was referencing my previous pic just to make sure; that, and way too many 'Oh yea, I had this' moments.... ;) :P

Dunno if it's in retail stores, but you can find that model in Rakuten stores for sure. Still, it looks like Seiko's price 'upgrade' has affected these as well, now minimum Y180k++... Oh well, if a good deal comes along, FHFL, I guess. :P

Got a qn bro.

I tried ordering from rakuten but need to find my own freight forwarder.

How did you do it?

Cheers man!
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
Not all Rakuten stores require. Try the global.Rakuten.com/en/ site, search for the item you want to buy, and see if the shops listed will ship overseas; for watches, Tokeikan and Time-G(arden) will both ship overseas. If you can do this, it's best, as you'll lose the middle-man and 5% domestic consumption tax. Shipping is usually reasonable from Japan for small items. (EMS for watches has never been above S$40 for me.). Still, not too many Rakuten shops will ship overseas themselves, so you got to look at the other options usually.

There's that tenso service. Never used, however, as I think some stores will not take non-Japanese CC. Don't have to time to figure that out.

I personally have used fromjapan.co.jp's service. You will pay 5%+ on top of the price (w. Japanese consumption tax) domestic and int'l shipping, not too bad. Even better, however, is that they've had 1-week long 10% discount campaigns on Rakuten items, I think financed by the fact that they can get 10% value back in Rakuten points. Good deal that, but only once in a very long while.

Boss you have a clearer picture of your birdie? (not meant to be corny)... It seems to have clean elegant hands n dial. Can share more pic? Special request!

Flipping anytime in the near future?
Re: State of collection - Sep 10. (lotsa pictures!)
I'm likely keeping the M177S for the foreseeable future; though the movement has some issues (and I really should service it), it's still a nice watch. Unfortunately, I don't have any good pictures of the watch anymore; they were all in the original EDMW thread (since deleted), and my old hard drive crashed, so... this is the best I could find, will try to get a better one later:

And here's another quick preview I was able to take with my phone yesterday, woulda been a waste to not snap any shots after searching for the right watches... anyway, the more things change, the more things stay the same:

Yea, I saw that... that's got a better movement than the M177S, but at the same time it's more than 3x what I paid. :P

M177S's are sold on WUS on and off, there were three sold for <US$140 in the last month. I'd also take a look at taobao and see if any of those are still available; I don't read Chinese, though, so you're on your own there. :P
