Ya, damage was ~$450, excluding GST. fromjapan had one promo going, ended up ~Y24000++. Worth it at that price, trying to get separate PVD will cost $100+ easy, and not sure it will be as good. Plus, that white dial is just awesome contrast!

Yellow OS300 was direct from Japan seller through rakuten. Overall OK, but had crown problem when received which Irene @ Big Time help sort out (shipped back to Japan).

Just so you know, the OS300's have been disconned, even the newer hacking / hand-wind ones. Orient is now only selling the black / orange O300, even in Japan (same watch, different detailing). Good luck if you're going for it, be aware you'll need a forwarding agent. Model no. Is WZ0271FD or WZ0191EL (newer). Prices are now extremely high w/ the Yen's strength.

US version is the international Orient 300, not an Orient Star. No real differences, just detailing (logo, dial wording, crown signing, etc). I wouldn't be too bothered, it's the black one you want afterall.

The watch has got a nice, heavy feel to it. It is slightly top-heavy though... but you get used to it. It's not a refined piece, but not supposed to be, it's a true beast. Yours is a hack / hand-wind version?

Don't know if you can easily pick up the dial separately, spare Orient parts are not something you see normally (though I'm sure Orient stocks them). The OS300 / O300's have to go to Japan to be serviced if I'm not wrong; could just be Singapore though! ;)

Then again, wouldn't hurt to ask, I guess... though dunno who in Singapore would have experience with this piece, not to mention do the pressure testing.

Still, it's really a cosmetic change; no real differences in the watches, if I had that watch I wouldn't bother changing anything. Though I will admit, while I like the look of the black variant of both the OS300 & O300 equally, that yellow (and the gold trim varient) just blows them out of the water! ;) :P

I prefer the old school printed "ORIENT".... dun really like the logo.... :shock: which is why I sold off all my orient and go back to school...

Ya... that's the one.... old school kickass.... I liked it.....

Other than this one ....there are a few Brazil models lying around.... the one dat caught my eyes is the oris lookalike... with your pepsi bezel.... looked stunning but had been discontinued.
