I think gathering in a quiet cafe is much better option for us.

Ah I'm familiar with that place but it's not near any mrt. Not convenient for non drivers but a nice quiet place. Used to study there haha.

Guys, my two cents:



Cafes and fast food chains in heartlands and town, are usually packed with families and young couples dating on the weekends. Will be noisy and lack of privacy.



Our best bet are the cafes in CBD which maybe quiet(er) on Saturdays where it's usually a "ghost town" as there are little business activities. Cult, boutique and famous cafes excluded, of course.



Don't wish to be seen hard selling the muffin cafe in Telok ayer, but I recommend that place cos it's central, easy to find, quite exclusive as they are willing to open especially for us (usually closed on Saturdays) and affordable. 15-20 bucks per pax (min 20 pax) for food and venue rental.



I can take some photos of the venue next week and show you guys if you wish. No obligations.

Why not we lock in the number of people and see if the muffin place can work out a deal for us?

I'm coming from Woodlands, anywhere also far and it's more South than West la. Only 2 more MRT stop from Vivo City.



We will just go BK or Spinelli or something. Another 3 more weeks, I doubt there will be more pax coming.



Unless there's another place in Raffles Place but don't require committed numbers and booking and buy your own drink/food.

The muffin place is running a F&B business, & bringing your own food and drink will not work there and won't be fair to the lady boss. :)



As such, I will not pursue. BK or Spinelli is fine. I'll just go with the flow.

We can dine in (it's up the the individual members if they want to buy any food and drinks) but it's just no committed numbers, so we can do a $10-15 per pax for 10 pax ?



Bottomline is, I don't want to make fixed arrangements as that requires pre-paying before the gathering and a whole lot of logistics like collecting $$, chasing for $$, RSVP-ing etc etc.



Just forget that it's our anniversary, treat it as any normal GTG. There's no need for special treatment for like 10+ pax.



Anyway, I'm done with this thread and the attendance and arrangement for any future forum GTG, if there's turn up good. No turn up, pack up and go home.

I know pre-collection of funds can be cumbersome, but a certain amount of commitment in time and money from participants are definitely required for a good GTG.



Perhaps a program run down would be good as well?



We've succeeded collecting 370 from 50 members for the forum watch project, what's collecting 20 bucks per pax for a gathering?



May I suggest if we postpone the gtg to June? More time to plan and attract more participants.



Finally, everyone who has expressed interest in participating in the gtg is doing it out of passion for this community. Perhaps more time & patience are required to plan and strategize, that's all. :)

got it loud and clear now. This makes the two of us. Time is precious when you have a 3 month old at home. To top it off, it's disappointing when there is such lackluster response to the gtg. :(

Thanks to the members who showed up. It was a small but fun gathering. Quiet from 3+, ample parking and it's even free parking ! We can consider this place for future gatherings, although it close a tad early around 5.



The best piece to molest is the upcoming club watch







Can't wait.
