Seiko Blue Sardine

$800 each? Woah. Another $400, you can probably score a vintage Grand Seiko. Lol.

It all boils down to how much you like the piece; I personally won't do 800 a piece.

Happy hunting. ;)

Yes!!! at Vincent watch , Tampines mall branch, selling way above rrp> recommended retail price , was there ard 7pm

The Seiko SRP453K , blue sardine is in fact going at $850 nett , rrp from yeoman's blog ,TS price tag $555.40 w/gst

The Seiko SRP455K1, blue monster , rubber strap, tag at $800 nett, rrp from yeoman's blog ,TS price tag $492.20 w/gst

The Seiko SRP461K, blue monster with metal bracelet with ltd edition of 500 is going for $850 nett, dunno the recommended retail price yet .

All 3 are tag with the $850 or 800 nett luminous sticker tag over the Thong Sia RRp price tag.

Although i have good impression of this shop over WOS in the same building, this pricing is a bit too hard to swallow.

Selling at RRP already has reasonably good profits to say,but around $200 more than RRP,

i can only say, the SG Seiko WIS or the internet savvy seiko buyers would likely if not definitely stay away from this shop or its branches after reading this post

Even city chain i believe does not do this, selling over RRP.

The other shop i know does this is the shop at yishun north point level 1, with red background., Ironically it was the red sardine i saw priced at $700, they took away the Thong sia rrp price tag back then.
kind of disappointed to see this, selling above retail

i can accept they sell at retail or shrink discount but 295 above retail is really

Correct, Brother Roo: The market forces driving the sales. I don't think Thong Sia will intervene; no skin off their back at all.

Re: Seiko Blue Sardine
Manage to locate both the blue monster n tuna at the grey selling at people's parking last friday.

They were selling the baby tuna at $550 w/o GST for the blue tuna.

Dont really lie the color so immune to the baby tuna, but kena poison by the big brother instead....now eyeing at either the SBBN0015 ot SBBN0017 :)

at vincent, i think they pasted the 850/800 nett luminous sticker right over the rrp price.

some watch shop take back the rrp price tag so call for inventory/stock take purpose.

assume this theory is true, most retail customer have no idea they paid well over rrp!!

the yishun northpoint shop i would think it could be call time studio, from the mall directory, only 2 watch shop n both in level 1, other shop is city chain.

That's why when I was hunting for the LE sardines last week I was totally confused as to the actual RRP of seiko watches. Many shops display different RRP for their Seikos and offer different discounts.

So a seiko newbie like me will most likely get conned into paying more if not for forums like these and the helpful people here.

Rrp is the same for all seiko watches directly from thong sia.

You can take a look at yeoman's site, how the rrp tag looks like.

the rrp tag with price tag come directly from Thong sia.

the only difference is the discount they offer from the rrp, from 10%(usual shopping centre watch shop-some competitive shops that offer up to 40%)

those shops u see with non thong sia price tags, could be several reasons

they have already removed and work out the discounts price, or they are selling above rrp price (seldom), or last but not least, they are selling PI set(which usually comes with in house/shop warranty and not thong sia warranty)

Online websites which skywatches and petrolnut/watchwagon setup offer a very good reference price to follow, if you do not know yet or google before.
Re: Seiko Blue Sardine
Seiko Blue Sardines is not a rare watch at this moment. No point over-paying for it.
Re: Seiko Blue Sardine
Happy can liao.

Any1 can always declare to every1 that he buy the LE monster/sardine/ghost/angel/tiger/shark/dinosaur/bird at $800+.

He himself happy can liao.

Very tempted, or cannot tahan or whatever..... end of the day.

YOU HAPPY can already.

We care?

I dont think so.

So.

End of story?

You buy and you HAPPY can aleeady!

former kingwah give 40% flat, not sure his new shop still does this, cash terms.as usual, buy what u see at his shop only.

wins i think has a small counter that offers some models at 50%.

there Are ppl who buy from twinkle that has good things to say only, im sure the discounts are built up over time. i intro 3 pinoy colleagues there and they always come back and show me their new hoots in the company.

if you buy more regularly, i'm sure the shop ppl will give you more discounts over time.

same with k2, most of the guys built up their buying and selling relationship with Goh over time and most if not all come away feeling good abt it

I am still waiting for the grey import J model.
Re: Seiko Blue Sardine
Already check with thong sia not coming in the j model one time launch only bro
Re: Seiko Blue Sardine
Hi all, dunno whether this is the right place to post this.

Just to share, saw a ltd edition brown sardine and a ltd edition black one with gold lugs at Bukit Timah Plaza. These are numbered ltd editions if I am not wrong.

Personally, I feel ltd editions should be numbered which I believe the blue ones are not. Just my take.

Price listed as $780 each discount and was told can be discounted.

For bros who are still looking for these.

If this is not the right thread to post this, moderator please feel free to move it.

Cheers and good hunting.
