Hi Guys



Has anyone ordered and received one of Harold's new Black DLC Sardine Shrouds ?



If received, what are your thoughts ? Hopefully won't have the issue that some of the SS Shrouds had, being difficult to fit onto the Sardine :oops:



I've just ordered one only yesterday and awating delivery with great excitement :mrgreen:



At USD $100, they're more expensive than the SS Shrouds that were sold for USD $88..but I had to get one :D

Honestly speaking, i can't differenciate this black DLC shroud and a normal black plastic shroud. Quite a waste of money in my opinion.

At least it is upgraded to full metal, plastic will crack over time? And with a black mesh. Complete tuna.

To me, at least, it's not so much the look...although I believe the DLC coating on the Shroud will look much better than the original plastic/rubber one :lol:



It's more the feel of the watch, when you put on that SS Shroud. I am a guy who like to feel the watch on my wrist, that's why I'm not a big fan of Titanium watches. I love the heft and feel of my SRP227 Sardine, modded with the SS Yobokies Shroud.







The Black DLC Shroud will be going onto my "Stealth" SRP236 Sardine project (I'm also getting a Black Bezel for it :mrgreen: )

disappointed with the SS shroud as it does not fit in,

need to do filing (still doing it) ...

email him and asked me to use crystal press to force it in :evil:

hope the black shroud u order is of better quality and do not have this problem.

Mine came today, but it is not a good fit, cannot go in.



Mine watch is PVD coated, don't want to squeeze it in as will scratch the lugs.

Too bad... perhaps able to sand / dremel it down so it fits? Or would the inside coating having been taken off be too apparent?

Tell him you going to forum to complain, he will reply u.... That's precisely why I don't recommend ppl supporting yobokies because of this. Not cheap and QC lacking... And Bo hue most of the time unless you are a 'known' forum person...

Yah. When u ask for purchase, the reply is almost immediate. When something screw up, no response at all.



I wonder if I can file a paypal dispute...

I got a DLC shroud from him too. My shroud went MIA and got to have Singpost headoffice to asist and track it down. Apparently it went to the wrong country. Singpost did a good work to track and had it delivered.



Anyway, the DLC shroud was meant for my red ltd edition Sardine.

The test fit was not good, its too tight. I am pretty sure it will scratch the PVD case if I squeeze/force it.



I had written to yobokies too but also has not heard from him. Sigh...

I bought the DLC shroud specially for the red sardine.

Yobokies informed the DLC shroud will be wider tolerance so that it will not scratch the PVD surface.

i bought the baby tuna SS shroud from him.



Yobokies was quick to reply my queries, ships fast and i was a happy customer. smoothest transaction i had in a while.

I guess the confidence level on the shroud product has been discounted.



In summary, i think for stainless steel shroud, its OK to purchase. Maybe some trimming to own liking is needed.

For the DLC shroud, think better stay away.



I have yet to decide what to do... Had file complaint with yobokies ..... no response yet.

For me, i actually did ask him whether he did take provision for the DLC coating and also reminded him to machining the shroud for more tolerance.

He should have check it first before selling/sending it.



Morever, its not a cheap parts !

the only items i've not had issues with are yobokies sapp xtal (touch wood!!)

his bezel inserts, dial, hands.. all have some small QC issues here and there (minor)

it wont be as heart pain if the prices aren't so high.



nowadays, i always think twice / thrice before i decide to undertake any mod projects.. its just too expensive.

Was thinking of buying one of his hammer bracelets but this makes me think twice.



I had no issues with his sapphire crystal for the skx007 either though some filing was required to fit his bezel.

The hammer bracelet is good the last two times I've bought it. No issue.

I think the first batch has ones that come fitting well. If I din recall wrongly, Badern ordered 2. One can fit and one cannot.
