Project Watch #2 Official Chit Chat Thread

Project Watch #2 Official Chit Chat Thread
Dear All,

AM doing a poll for next forum watch base and the interval for each forum watch.

All are allowed 2 votes, 1 is to choose watch base and the other to choose the interval.

Thank you.
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Ehh... before i vote... should this thread be in Seiko Club Watch project section?
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Voted for #1- release a SCS65 forum watch every single year.

In consideration of...

1. building a strong bond with part suppliers such that time taken to confirm and build on a particular year design can be cut short over time.

2. growing numbers of members joining in annually, such that almost every one gets a chance to own one.

3. with every single year involvement in the design and choosing of watch base of the anniversary watch, finer details can be tuned better year over year, and more ideas from new members can be injected in.
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Let's leave the thread here, since it's not exactly a project yet.

Seiko siao, I salute you. You make a difference !

Can try those fullswing watches but also not cheap. Then you can fully customize a watch. Any good ideas ?

Lol think this time round, I might wanna be a spectator instead. Keke
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base

"zeikphur"

6r15 perhaps, but alas cost might prove to be a factor

6r15 will probably shoot the price of the anniversary watch up to $500 or so, after factoring in modding components cost of dials, hands...

I would like to suggest using 7sXX base movement(since this movement is now on the way phasing out?) models like the SNZGXX Field Watch with respectable WR?
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Wah lau eh i say both cmi now both dun want!!!u all want me to cim for ah siao meh???

but i reali hope the nxt wil b the ff watch...nice bezel n cost lower
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base

it can be any kinda case/bezel/dial but movt is swiss eta. mvt is from 90-150? not sure whats the market of a unadjusted eta.
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Actually the biggest issue is quantity. It's also because of this very issue, we were pulled by our noses by the supplier.
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
How about a pocket watch?

Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base

"sellwatch"

How abt Selita?

SELLITAs movement is not easy to secure. Especially now their production volumes are tied closely to big players, leaving very little to be sold as off the shelf stocks. For SWISS movements, we'll probably have to look for budget makes like VALANVRON or CLARO SEMAG liaoz...

"oOsiMm"
it can be any kinda case/bezel/dial but movt is swiss.
before we go SWISS, we need to identify whether fellow members are willing to pay close to 120eu for the movement, which comes close to 220SGD base on 1SGD:0.55eu ratio... after factoring all other costs... will shoot close to 450SGD if my calculation no wrong...
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Customisation isn't cheap to begin with wor.

How about tying in with "reputable" micro brands,

Etc, Movas keke
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
just a sudden thought,no harm saying..

how about making SCS L.E g shocks with SCS logo illumination on face when the illum button is pressed? Its like those vintage DW6900,8000,8300 etc with ilumniated logos in the LCD. Backcase will be serialised ..
Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
fullswing quality is very good, but the moq probably starts in the hundreds

Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
Serialize the watch is gd.

Support wise I sure support.

But can I suggest the downtime to be shorter.

Re: Interval Of Forum Watch & Next Forum Watch Base
I vote using monster as a base. it should be easier to get as a base watch.

and price wise not so on the high end. customize parts should be easier to find as well.

Suggestion is free

Talk is free

When come down to dollars and cents, see how many will fork out 300 and abv.

Anyway, since all whack higher and higher, I suggest using a GS as base.

GS looks like 65, may even save the R&D.

True, based on the last poll, 300 is already stretching it. My suggestion is to keep it 300 and below. Make it affordable.
