Hello to all Yandao Hunkees & Brothers :!:
Been MIA for a few weeks n I am back :!: Had a fruitful retreats & got most of my tools ready. Managed to get those tools & stuffs which only eBay can get it & in a cheaper & lower prices.
my humble little pony & the rests :P

finally got the beewax from my cousin :D
got all the punches that i need for the holes, groover and the beaver (hope i got the word correctly)
starting my little project on the leather strap tonight after knock off from work. gonna start doing the 20mm strap.

Paiseh didn't explain well in some of the details, hope i didnt mislead you in anyway. You really did a good job for a first strap. Just like any other skills, you need to practice more to make it better!
Agree with you, the feeling of wearing your own hand made strap is priceless....

They are selling 3,6 and 4,5 set. I bought them but I have not tried them. I have been using rotary punch and hollow punch set I got from hardware store.

I found out the possibility how this happened... I simulated several stitching with leather and discovered its more like steering problem not drunk driving :lol:
The leather you're using is soft and thus...
a) Making a stitch-groove line with a groover is difficult, and
b) Stitching it makes it irregular in shape
Solution:-
Use a filler in between the uppers and bottom layers. This filler can be leather or other materials.
The filler has to make the upper leather 'stiff' to assist you in cutting as well as stitching.
Other than that, its a good beginning kokoro.
