Hi to all tuna fans..my fisherman kaki just recce for me yodobashis and BIC stores in Tokyo..No signs of my fav tuna(sbbn017) anywhere.

But he managed to snag a black and red tuna( guess which one?) for my wife..



Well..'no fish,prawn also ok' for me...



At least one tuna caught..

Congrats.black and red shroud? Or red 12, 6 and 9? H

Pardon my ignorance but have yet to see a red shroud tuna. If got picture can share? Congrats again.

dear seiko gurus familiar with JDM watches, if the watch is from a japan AD, will seiko singapore honor the warranty or will i need to send back to japan for servicing and repairs?


I dun know abt TS.

But ah goh is as reliable as you can get locally.



Also, you can always drop by to see the progress of your watch.

Also, can socialize.

Also, can buy more watches.

Also..... many also.....

It's a SBBN 023..My fisherman jus delivered the fresh tuna to me just now... I also just managed to order my fav SBBN017 from Katsu (Higuchi)



Watch will be ship out on 13th Sep..Soo soo looking forward to it..

Sorry..still can't figure out how to post pic of the Golgo from my iPhone..me really lousy with stuff like this..

Wow this piece limited and very nice so cannot consider to be prawn Mr. Caveman. Many will likely consider this a rare fish even more so than the 017.

Iirc it is also more pricy.

Bro Kkfa- U are right..the 023 is suppose to be 'more limited' and rare compared to 017..But my friend couldn't find a 017..instead a 023 popped up..



The 023 cost around sin$12xx after conversion..subjected to final bill on my friend's credit card..



But guess what?? My 017 costs almost as much as the 023..I just pay pal to Katsu US$820 for my 017..



On a side note..Is there a after market Matt black shroud for the 023? Coz it's glossy and actually I prefer it Matt. Maybe yobokies may have it..

Wow two rare fishes. Congrats but be careful with the shroud. It has been shown to be quite easily damaged through wear. In any case, great catches.

Yah I saw on yeoman's blog case back coating dropping off, but ok la, can't be seen...must wear la, tuna is supposed to be a tool watch....so how many Golgos here? My only comment about this watch is it wears a lot smaller on my wrist than I expected...

The utility and satisfaction of having the watch is priceless. More so if the watch is new. Buy and enjoy..things have a way of evening out over the years..

This is especially so if you tend to keep your purchases. Enjoy and forget about whatever..Cheers.

After wearing the 023 for a day, I have come to reaffirm that I really really really hate seiko rubber straps, very uncomfortable and the metal Golgo part has actually "cut" inuo my wrist, I think I need to get an alternative rubber strap or bracelet? NATO straps are out as I am afraid the friction between case back and strap will cause the pvd coating to wear off..any suggestions ?

Some swear by isofrane which I am also looking to buy but I hate buying online. I thought the watch comes with a custom leather band? Another way is to use a bund strap but I find that too hot. You can also go to K2 for some value for money paros (?) leather strap which I use for some of my pieces.

Nope it came on a Golgo theme rubber strap. Yeah I have a Paros orange strap on my OM, cheap and decent quality. But would like to avoid leather on the Golgo.

My mistake the leather comes with the land master version of the golgo series which is an automatic movement.



If the lugs dig in then u might be wearing it too tight. I wear my watches on the looser side even for such big ones as tuna.

Ask u all seiko gurus ah, JDM models like tuna bought from online shops, will Thong Sia honor the warranty, it says on my Japanese warranty card it is valid only within Japan...

From what I know, the warranty will only be Japan specific. That is also one reason I am hesitant to buy online. I will stand corrected by more knowledgeable gurus here.

Thats also why international warranties are preferred.

Thinking of picking up a spring bar tool and some straps for my tuna...is it easy to change the straps? just need to use the pointy end of the spring bar tool to push out the spring bar via the hole in the lugs right? :?

It comes with lug holes right? A decent quality toothpick and fingernails will do the job :D

Personally I find a strap changing tool has a higher chance of scratching the case especially if you are doing it for the first time :)
