A very nice Bullhead Chrono with Seiko movement. Already successfully funded in Kickstarter within 3 hours it listed :D

Was interested in the automatic mechanical version but the price was abit higher than i expect. The Steinhart Racetimer is about €50 more but comes with a Valjoux movement. Hmm. Guess i,ve been spoiled by Steinhart pricing. LOL!!

When it comes to movement debate, it is often very subjective...

Some feels that the ETA/Valjoux 775x movements is reliable becos it had been regarded as workhorse grade calibre for a long period of time, compare to SEIKO's NE88.

Some may consider SEIKO's NE88 is more reliable than that old SWISS calibre becos of modern day engineering that corrects flaws in accuracy as well as operation.

Actually, when we look from a wider angle, both positive views are correct as different folks have different exposure when it comes to their first timepiece with either movements that gave them the positive impressions.

Personally... for long term ownership, i will go for 775x movements. Parts are widely available, and watchmakers handling such movements are available, hence much more economial than NE88 which is currently regarded as much complex to handle, with challenging parts availability.

My main concern is this movement is very new. And from experience, movements may have "teething" problems when 1st released. And getting service maybe an issue. Anyway, i,m very tempted by the automatic white panda. But i prfer the layout of the mecaquartz panda. Ie i prefer the look of the registers ln left and right, instead of up and down. Hmm..

Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Micro-brands
Obris Morg. is still very much competitive.

I was browsing their catalogue the other day, quite surprise to see few other models with 9015 offered @ 299USD.

I am looking into HELBERG Chrono CH2 and CH3 right now... priced quite competitive compare to other dive watches with chronograph functions in the market. Although do not come with STEEL bracelet in the package. Duh...

Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Micro-brands
From the British side... the only label with 2824 movement that is "budget" friendly with good WR specs, and good package content... is only from TimeFactor's PRECISTA.

priced @ GBP340, package with additional rubber strap that matches with the dial color... but shipping additionally charged.

Considerably a "micro" brand, F71 from WUS Affordable forum...

Folks over there are planning to come out with another forum project which is going to be a homage to the recently announced SeaMaster from OMEGA for the upcoming "007" sequel "SPECTRE".

Meet project F71 SPECTRE... this is just the most recent design idea from fellow members over there.

Price had not been fixed yet, but from the discussions, lots are expecting that it will fall under USD$250, depending on specs and volume of response.

Discussion here... should any bruds have their interests...

"lunarin79"

not bad

The design is not yet finalized, so as the price. Yes... it could be cheaper than the PRECISTA, but judging from the budget and the discussion so far, it will certainly not be fitted with Swiss Engine that costs a few time much more than China DG movement, or Miyota 8XXX calibres. In the discussion some where @ page 25 or around there... there was a mention of shortage of 9015 movement. So... let's see how the project continues to be...

But certainly, may not happen this year, due to the tight schedule...

This version may be based on the L&H orthos diver. Don't mind the larger case, but it needs coin edge bezel rather than the scallop bezel. A 12 hour bezel like the spectre would be nice too.

Engine wise maybe a NH35?

Re: S I C / Sharing Is Caring for Micro-brands
Yes.

Maybe base on Orthos. But if u take a look @ the poll most voters go for from scratch. I voted for the 2nd option. To keep costs lower by some percentage.

Repost from WUS in case anyone is keen on a 62MAS homage. http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=3691514

This is a watch that began about 3 weeks ago as a dream among a few WIS that loved that long retired model from Seiko. Doug with Manchester Watch Works was also equally enamored about that model and was willing to help us make that happen dream a reality. The watch has been updated to a more modern size from the original 37mm to 40mm. It has also been upgraded to 200M water resistance from the original 150M and push/pull crown. However, the overall goal was to maintain most of the traditional design aspects of the watch. Some other details are listed below.

This watch is priced at $350 + Shipping

$10 for domestic USA shipping

$36 for International Shipping

The important thing to note about this pre-order is that MWW will only produce the exact number of watches ordered and paid for. So there WILL NOT an opportunity to buy this watch once the pre-order closes.

Please follow this link to the MWW pre-order page and complete your order

USE THIS LINKhttps://goo.gl/2tGS1x

There will be 2 choices of dial logo (no change in price for either selection) that can be picked for this watch. The two options are shown below as either the '62MAS' text logo or the 'MWW' diamond logo:

The MWW Diamond logo is an applied logo and the 62MAS logo will be printed.

Specifications:

- 40mm x 47mm 316L stainless steel case

- Seiko NE15 automatic movement, 21,600 bph, 50+ hour power reserve, finely finished, quickset date, hack setting, manual winding capability

- 200m water resistance

- Double domed sapphire crystal with inner AR

- 120 click unidirectional bezel with aluminum insert

- Superluminova C3 lumed dial, hands and bezel 12:00 marker

- Screwed down and engraved crown and caseback

- Black tropic style rubber strap, 20mm drilled through lugs

- Sunburst grey dial finish with choice of '62mas' logo or MWW triangle logo

- See renders for additional details

- Please read all additional details on the MWW pre-order page

NEW DIVER WITH SEIKO MOVEMENT
Hello everyone, I would like to show you interesting diver - NAVIS Aqvantis. It’s a new, independent brand which according to their website is going to start a Kickstarter campaign soon. The prices start at $249 which seems to be cheap for the materials which they used, and seiko movement -

NH35a 300m/1000ft waterproof, sapphire crystal etc. There will be an option to pay $100 extra to get Swiss SW200 movement.
