Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread

Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread
Hi All,

i follow this thread with interest. May i offer my humble suggestion...

Let just assumed if e confirmed pax 2 attend this event is less then 30, a high tea buffet (around $10 per pax) should b enough. Is it possible to held this event at K2? i noticed that outside the shop, e area is quite big enough to place the high tea buffet items (mayb near e staircase that side). As for chairs to sit, i believe that e caterer should b able to supply us with e chairs(of course at an additional charges).

Whether e bldg management allow us to held e event there is another story liao and also are we disturbing Mr Goh doing his business??? i am sure if we ask Mr Goh politely, he might agree, because if we never ask, we never know. He should be our VIP for that day. I for sure, were " poisoned " there after reading e seiko thread from EDMW and went to pay him a visit.

We might generate some business for him on that day too.

Not enough food n drink for that day? no worry. dwnstair got supermarket.

Not enough money to hoot watch from some bros who might intend to flip watch that day? dwnstair got ATM.

E lighting might not be ideal thou, shouldnt be an issue right? :?

Anyway, this is just my humble suggestion. If u have read until here, i thank you for your time. Sorry for my poor England. Pls do not flame me.

Thks n hv a great wkend ahead. :)

Well i just came back from Mr.GOH's place... he had hinted that the building management will most likely won't allow any kind of gathering or function set up outside his shop area.

I guess is individual la. Weekends and PH is strictly family. But when it comes to weekdays, that's different story. :)

I have 5 days I can do whatever I want and 2 days for family, that's what my wife and I agreed upon.

So, dun worry bros....

If it is weekends, I will wait for the pics upload. I morally support from home. :)

Well i just came back from Mr.GOH's place... he had hinted that the building management will most likely won't allow any kind of gathering or function set up outside his shop area.

ya regarding this feedback,my opinions...I strongly do not suggest we hold any such "private forum" event directly beside any watchshop.its good to remain free from affilations and a simple club for now..SCS event should be held in a 'neutral' place...shouldnt be viewing as helping to bringing in businessess for any watchshop...it may backfire..

-building management likely to not agree, problems arised then cause headache for shopowner and building management

-crowd walkway, complains receive from public or shopkeepers

-strangers hanging around

-no proper place to seat(logistically not easy be it the table n chairs rental, package cost etc),dim lighting

-we have been customers of so various 2nd hand watches shops locally...remain equal is the best and not bring in free business or marketing for any shops using the name of this event..but any other day feel free to do so..
Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread
We have formed an organising committee, any volunteers are welcome. ;)

I let this thread run for you guys to share ideas, while we are also working behind the scenes.

No lah... nobody get offended ley... It's just that we're pointing out the possibilities and concerns when it comes to a place of choice.

Even if we're to get this event to be held in a restaurant, there's concerns of cost and location, parking space if most attendees are driving their own ride as well...(for me it's the dress code, as i prefer to be free and easy wor...)

I initially also thought about K2 as well... or even the indonesian restaurant @ lvl1 of TKSC...
Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread
Any suggestion is welcome, nobody is shooting anybody idea's down, don't worry.

It's a discussion thread for ideas.

Meanwhile, venue aside, do you guys want food in the gathering ?

Lunch or tea-break ? Catered food ? Pot luck ?
Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread

i suppose food have to get halal and no beef and if got vegetarian must have enough vege?

this gonna be tough 8-)
Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread
Most likely, i don't think that most attendees would be able to turn up in the morning, or late morning... as some would be still working or clearing their outstanding duties @ home, in Saturdays or attending church gathering, or temple visiting during Sundays... so most like afternoon gathering on Saturday noon will be most likely be greeted with lots of members.

Tea-break type of gathering would be nice, IMO. With perhaps little snacks or something like that. Most importantly, no alcohols... as some brudders here are driving.

Re: Seiko Club Singapore turning one - Discussion Thread

Thanks Ivan, let's nail some of these.

1. Venue, we need a big space with sitting areas but it should not too public as well, for safety reasons and there's a tendency to invite a lot of curious stares and weird passer bys.

2. Let's make it on a Sat afternoon to evening timing on the month of April.

3. Definitely open to everybody in the forum. We always have the same group of people in our past gatherings. We have grew quite a big, so all new members are very much welcome. :)

4. Bring your poisons. However, do note for safety reasons, you may not want to bring every single watch out, in the case of mix up or whatever other reasons.

Btw, Herz bro has very good suggestion to form a committee to arrange for this event, I can't do it alone, we also can't take in everybody's input, too many cooks spoil the soup

I will make contact with some of you that I already know, I welcome any volunteers too. The more the merrier. ;)

Just PM me.

bro roo, can we hv an update so far? let me know hw I can help but there's no guarantee I will be around on that day as I am travelling a lot in my current(new) job. :(

1. date - 07 or 14 -Apr-2012 (Sat) <-- shld be these 2 dates right?

2. time - 4pm onwards?

3. venue - restaurant/ fast-food outlet/ coffee outlet (Starbucks/CBTL/CoffeeClub, etc)/ function rm (cc/hotel/conndo, etc)

4. food - buffet/ restaurant/ fast-food delivery (Mac/KFC/Pizza Hut/Pastamania, etc) --> actually also depends on venue
