Late Monday, Bank of America said it was selling the shares in CCB in a deal expected to generate an after-tax gain of US$1.8 billion for the U.S. bank, and leaving it with a 1% stake in the Chinese lender.
The planned sale, part of moves by Bank of America to shed non-core assets as it aims to shore up its balance sheet, comes just three months after a previous sale where it was left with a 5% stake in CCB. Then, Bank of America offloaded 13.1 billion shares in the Chinese bank and Temasek, its wholly owned hedge fund Seatown Holdings, as well as Chinese investors were among the buyers.
It wasn''t immediately clear how many shares the Chinese investors have bought in the latest sale. But another person familiar with the transaction had said Tuesday the Chinese government feels CCB''s shares are undervalued and would support Chinese institutions to buy stakes in the bank.

SINGAPORE - A 32-year-old man was found dead yesterday evening, at the foot of a block of flats in Ang Mo Kio.
The incident happened at about 8pm at Block 467, Ang Mo Kio Ave 10. The deceased, a Malaysian, was believed to have fallen from the 14th floor.
He was also found to have suffered a knife wound to neck. His body was found lying face-up, wearing a blood-soaked yellow T-shirt and a pair of beige shorts.
Police also found a trail of blood of about 20 metres, leading from the 11th floor to the 14th floor. A bouquet of blood-stained chrysenthemums and a packet containing instant noodles were also found nearby.
The evidence gathered have led police to believe it is not a simple case of suicide, reported the Lianhe Wanbao.
A search of the surrounding area where the body was found also uncovered a penknife.
Wads of cash, keys and an identification card were found on his body.
Police investigations are ongoing.

I think I will only keep 1 for years. The rest, sad to say, I will sell them soon.
I m sitting here thinking of all the impulse buys, calculated buys, careful buys, but, all cheese buy! End up no chemistry with me.....

"They stopped the car and made me have sex with each of them several times, using condoms. When they had finished they left me in the bush totally naked."
He was rescued when some people called the police, who took him to the hospital to mend the effects of the drug, "as the urge to have sex was still there".
The BBC News report added the women were charged in court for aggravated indecent assault since Zimbabwean law did not recognise the act of a woman raping a man.
The women were detained after officers found 31 used condoms in the car that they were travelling in.
The charges were denied by the women who said they were prostitutes and had been too busy to dispose of the condoms.
Police who spoke with the BBC said they believe there is a syndicate operating nationwide.
The semen is believed to be used in rituals to bring success in business, and there are suggestions that they are being taken outside of the country for sale.
A cultural and sociology lecturer Claude Mararikei told the BBC it was not clear how the semen would be used.
He said it is in the area of rituals and magic which border on secret societies. And researchers do not want to go into that area as they may not live to come out and publish their findings. AGENCIES
