The piece i picked up last night from a nice gentleman.. :D , got some discount too, but that was given before we met :lol: :lol:

it has no spring bars. the strap is held in position by the screw down caseback. movement is accessed from the front.

the original Dynamic one-piece strap wears out very very fast, fyi.

K2 has 3rd party straps for this model, material is slightly thicker than the stock strap & more durable :)

somewhere in there it says "Also seen a model with a cyclop in Plexiglas at day/date version (rare)", but hor dont know how authoritative that link is. no idea what plexglass is. :)

ya roo, went there to collect my tag heuer, the old 2000.; changed a strap, bought a strap and a pad and then left. There was a gentleman there on the same side of the counter with mr. goh.

damn, never got to his side of the counter :lol:

Anyway, I google image searched for the day date cyclop thing, nothing turns up. .. too rare :D :D , need to get ah goh to strip her apart someday :lol: :lol:

bro,I last time saw this link you mentioned when I bought my chronostop and looking to get a dynamic.. but that guy is just another new collector and IMO he just says what he sees. Anyway the omega official catalog dont have cyclops and Omega seldom(IMO) use cyclops on any watch models one.

no lah...I just try to contribute bit by bit to help bros but that's all my personal opinion and unless I can be firm on my statement then I would say 'confirmed blah blah blah ' rather than 'IMO....." riao. I am still learning like every bros here. Reason why I kinda stop my Omega searches is because of the recent high prices and most importantly ,its like a minefield. I also no confidence and would rather stick with Seiko/Jap/other swiss divers ...

Cum across a omega flightmaster at csc ken's stall I oso scare 2 hoot as nt familiar wit vintake omega n chiu ish better than me lah...I oni can c n admire others hoot... :(

yes, i think what oosim did is great. :D it is not only good for us scs members here, but also for all those somehow found their way here. though they might find us tkss some of the time, but there are things to be learnt here. i'm grateful to oosim for the discrepancy he pointed out, now i can tell my boy about this cyclop when i pass him the watch. :) ;)

bro I only have collected vintage Omega so what I knw is vintage nia..and on plastic only.. not sure vintage mineral glass have the logo or not.

As for more modern models,perhaps some bros can tell us..

*you can see in ebay/forums,ppl selling vintage omega may highlight the originality of crystal by making closeup macro shot of the crystal,that's bonus to me...but if the non original crystal fits well,then acceptable to me also.most impt is price ;)

no need to do crystal change bro...think Goh will also advise same one. IMO as long its properly fitted riao,then leave it alone unless u gt fate with a NOS original crystal which is probably uncommon.. else you try go cousinsuk or ofrei webby and search for crystal based on the watch model/variant number(inside backcase)

thats not true , the local technicians there do not have extensive knowledge about vintage watches. usually for such tasks they will have it sent back to switzerland for verification/repair, and u'll get back a hefty bill :lol:

we already know for sure the cyclops is not original , i ve seen many nos examples as well as the original catalogues and ads .

my hesalite/acryllic omegas have the logo, can see with naked eye (at the centre). My sapphire models don't seem to have..

No..Omega they can open and access thru their history of the watches they produce down the years so it isnt any problem.Access of watch is FOC anyway,don need sit aeroplane go switzerland :D

erm.. IMO from what I know and heard from various omega collectors,the service center is ok if you bring your current to recent omega models and the more popular(high end?) vintage models. Then they have extensive knowledge with aid of the database. Other than that,there are lots of Omega vintage models not well documented,let alone the individual parts number(crown/stem/crystal/gasket etc).

Omega vintage is more complicated than vintage Seiko..... from what I have learned with fellow collectors and online resources.... confusion also arises even for experience collectors..... original parts between various models can be interchange between but not correct for that particular model especially the crystals..... I myself also blur blur..... so the generally rule of thumb.... should have the little omega logo for all plastics regardless of vintage/modern.... mineral/sapphire no logo one..... as for cyclops which can be add-on on original crystals is even harder.... not correct for your model but still original which is widely accepted by most collectors.... ;)

My dad got this geneve dynamic watch also. he got it at the 70s.

Anyone know where i can do a overhaul and or even change the dial a bit as its a bit not nice in there liao in a cheaper price.
