What's your confidence with your japanese collection?

One of the forum member response claims that most of the SEIKO's sold here are "notoriously" fakes...

Of course lah... i would be an idiota to believe his words lor...

But then from another perspective... if i'm an angmo who have been living in a cave relying on postman to send my order... some more with the geographical location of the little red dot island surrounded by poor counterfeit control states... i might think the same as well...



What's your view?

There are fakes in stores here. I remember someone posting that they'd found a Seiko-branded 'Fujita' in one of the stores a while back.



Still, I don't think it's that prevalent (hopefully), and if you stick to reputable shops, or at least the Usual Suspects (see here: http://forums.seikoclubsg.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=161" false;), it should be fine...



Though, caveat emptor as always. It's always possible that a reputable shop may be passed a fake through the supply chain. And it would also depend on who the shops (especially any grey-market ones) get their stocks from.

once a while, we'll see comments from angmors slamming against Asian products but sigh..



once the stain is there, it's always there.



Though the culprit might not be from Spore but still, it's within an Asian country

There is some truth to their cautiousness and perceptions. For instance, I found fake g-shocks in Paris, Champ Elysees no less. Very unfriendly storekeeper of asian descent. :oops: :oops: :oops:



and brands like seiko, pulsar, in the west can be sibeh atas one siah, displayed together with omega side-by-side in harrods type. I think they see our mustafa merchandising sure pengz siah, maciam sell fruits. :lol: :lol: :lol:

i can undestand why ppl have bad impression of the sellers here. cos sg sellers in ebay peddle franken vintage watches from pakistan by the truckloads ! i have to work hard to convince overseas sellers to put me in their list of exclusions since many of them have singapore buyers BLOCKED!.. quite sad really
