Accuracy Test Challenge
Decided to conduct an accuracy test for some of my watches over the holidays but mainly to find out how does the Seiko calibers fair against their swiss counterparts.



Identified 2 pairs:



1. 8L35 (SBDX 011, purchased in Jul 2011) VS 3135 (SD 16600 K series, last serviced in May 2011)



2.6R15 (SBDC 003, purchased in Jun 2011) VS ETA 2824-2 (Sinn U1, purchased Feb 2011)







Results to be revealed....... :P

After 24 hours.....







8L35: +1 sec :o

3135: +4 sec

6R15: +1.5 sec

ETA 2824-2: +8.5 sec :roll:





Titoni Cosmo King (1982) just came back from Ah Goh's SPA: +5 sec

It's gonna be painful manz... To be clinical, i can't wear any of the 4 watches :(

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I gave up doing the accuracy test long ago..... will only do it with a new hoot..... did you rest all in the same position? Have you try rest them dial face down, right side, left side......

cant really compared like that imo... must test all positions, temperature , shock etc



and must have them all perfectly serviced and regulated by factory before testing





anyway for me im not anal abt accuracy especially vintage watches , want anything more accurate i flick my phone out :D

Not to mention, any conclusions you draw will only be on your own specimens, as one watch is hardly a good sample.



Wearing one one for a few days / week at a time, and then measuring the variance against an atomic clock as well as against the other datapoints would be a better way to set it up, but we don't have to be scientists! ;) From a goal of very basically seeing which watch you own is the most [color=#FF0000]accurate (oops, I'm confused :P), [/color]this is a fun exercise! 8-)
