BEWARE OF CTG!

BEWARE OF CTG!
Do NOT buy from CTG (HK)!!

It is tremendously disappointing when a supplier you have spent well over US$20,000 (always paying immediately up front) in the last 15 months alone, treats you like dirt and not only fails to deliver as promised (time and time again), but overcharges, provides spurious non-existent tracking references and ignores all emails and phone calls. This is precisely my experience with CTG.

Since Sep 2014, I have bought from CTG (Chino Talented Group) in HK the following 9 Seikos/Grand Seiko:

SBDC007

SBDC012 (x2), 014, 016, 017

SBEX001, 003

and finally, GS SBGC013

Furthermore, I referred an SCS friend who, like me, bought 2 SBDX012s. He too found that his delivery was hugely delayed - and was overcharged (i.e. others who ordered after us from CTG were charged less!).

Initially, CTG was responsive, courteous and acceptable in delivering. In the last few months, they have missed (by ages!) promised delivery deadlines, sent me HK Post and FedEx tracking references that were false - and then completely ignored my emails and voicemails (their Ms Chan had the audacity to tell me the last time we spoke that CTG's new "customer friendly" policy is to no longer accept phone calls). My GS SBGC013 is well over a month overdue and the FedEx reference issued a fortnight ago is still not registering (when I called FedEx, they advised me that no item has been picked up bearing that reference).

My concern is that something is dramatically wrong and by reference to their bizarre behaviour, it is conceivable that CTG are in trading/financial trouble. I have asked a HK lawyer to issue them a notice requiring them to deliver what is mine and, if they fail to comply, to report them to the HK Consumer Protection Council. I am posting this as a warning to other potential/existing CTG customers. Caveat emptor!!

PS: If anyone else has been defrauded by CTG, please pm me. We could think of applying group pressure. :(
Re: BEWARE OF CTG!
After the experience of buying sbdx012s from them. Thinking i would be the 1st few to own it.

Actually, i think i probably am the 1st few in sgp to do an online reservation and payment.

Shit just got real....

I saw the price got cheaper later, closer to the date when it was launched. Not to say anything, i gotten my watch about 2~3weeks after all the sbdx012 appearing in Singapore.

Worst still. Most of them are flippers and flipped at lower than what i paid for. What the hell.....

Yes.

No way i m going back to CTG

Re: BEWARE OF CTG!
Received this message from Chrono24 (they kindly contacted CTG on my behalf) today:

My colleague was in touch with the seller. According to them they will contact you, to discuss where the watch should be delivered.

Unfortunately the shipping got delayed due to the Christmas season.

Of course, the excuse was pure BS.. They have still not responded to my many calls, emails and (single) whatsapp.. We will see..
Re: BEWARE OF CTG!
Upon being found guilty in a court of law, perps will sometimes express how sorry they are. However, anyone with any common sense, will immediately interpret this to really mean "I am sorry I was caught". If these criminals were never caught, they would, of course, never apologise or do anything to remedy their wrongful acts.

The above can be applied in principle to my situation with CTG. ONLY after Chrono24 (with the additional leverage of a letter from the HK Consumer Protection Council AND a solicitor's warning letter) wrote to them to require them to make good on delivering my watch, did they comply.

But, was there a hint of apology for lying to me (spurious Fedex tacking reference) and/or ignoring all my calls, emails etc? Not a snowball's chance in hell!!

So, while I have finally - after great frustration and waste of time - received my 'misappropriated' Grand Seiko, my message is unchanged: (IMHO) CTG are dishonest and untruthful scum that should be put out of business so that what they have done to me (and no doubt others) might not be permitted to recur.

You have been warned.

On the other hand, Chrono24's Customer Service is superb! My heartfelt thanks to them! :D
