Is Swiss Unitas 6497 direct swap for Asian 6497?
As above. If i have a Asian 6497 watch, would a Swiss Unitas 6497 be a direct swap? Not sure if stuff like the movement holder is the same, or does it normally come with the movement? Wanted to try out Getat, but i don,t expect the Asian 6497 to be serviceable so eventually there,ll be a need to replace it.

Yes, the movement is interchangeable.

Pinion is referring to the "gear" of the hr n min hands.

You can try installing without swapping the pinion at 1st stage.

If its not tall enough, than u swap the pinion.

If you are getting a vintage pocket watch for the 6497 swap, suggest to secure the movement first.

These swiss movt are getting more n more ex. And difficult to source.

Also note that Getat delivery can be like rubberband.

Chinese 6497 are a hit or miss luck.

Luck with you they can perform flawlessly, get a lemon, watch repair guy will be yr best frd.

Ya the delivery lead time is the other thing holding me back. Lol. I found several sellers for the swiss 6497 on ebay from europe. But not sure about they,re reliability.some have 100% positive feedback though. I guess those are ok?

...perhaps their price are quite... okay bah... no matter 6498 or 6497, both priced the same @ SGD$270 approx.

Much competitive than OFREI. OFREI must buy alot then budget friendly. Otherwise, SWISS-MADE-TIME better in pricing.

Previously i wanted to hoot 2pc their 2834 movements for keeping, just in case if it comes handy... but too slow...
