Is there anyone out there a Whisky/Shōchū Lover

Is there anyone out there a Whisky/Shōchū Lover
any Whisky lover out there beside focusing on watches?

For me, I prefer Japanese Whisky and 1 or 2 serving to help us to release stress.

Yesterday, I went to Isetan Orchard and intend to hoot Nikka from The Barrel but it out of stock.

There are many choice like Hakushu (1973), Hibiki, Kakubin (1937), Yamazaki (one of the best whisky since 1923) but I still prefer Nikka (1934) and bought the Black Nikka Special Whisky.

Nikka Black Special Whisky 700ml 42%

Nicknamed as "Bearded Black" Been available since 1965

A sweet, nutty aroma with a hint of vanilla will first hit the nose when the bottle is being opened.

As you savor this remarkable whisky, you will notice that the sweetness will gradually diminish, replaced slowly by spices and salt, along with a small but of bitter notes of chocolate.

A wonderful offering of sweet and spicy notes.

Overall, a lovely blended whisky that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your home.

This could be...

Quote from internet

The founder, Masataka Taketsuru, travelled to Scotland in 1918 to learn the process of distilling Scotch whisky first hand. He studied organic chemistry under Prof. T. S. Patterson[citation needed] at the University of Glasgow and malt whisky production at the Hazelburn distillery, in Campbeltown near the Mull of Kintyre. He married Jessie Roberta ("Rita") Cowan, the daughter of a Glasgow doctor, and returned with her to Japan in 1920. In 1923 he joined Kotobukiya (currently Suntory) and helped to establish a distillery before starting Nikka in 1934.

After their deaths, the company was run by their adoptive son, Takeshi Taketsuru, who expanded its business substantially.

Black Nikka Special

42% – 72cl

Blended Whisky

The Black Nikka Special also features the “King of Blenders” label, and remains one of the most popular whisky brands in Japan today. The Japanese often enjoy this blend as a mizuwari, meaning on rocks with added mineral water, which is more suitable for accompanying meals.

taiwanese whiskey? it's like pitting seagull against GS [/quote]the Taiwanese has Japanese pride. The KAVALAN is really quite delicious. The fragrance from the port cast really no horse run. Nicely intoxicated after 2-3 rounds but clear as a blue sky with no hangover the next day. Highly recommended. :)
Re: Is there anyone out there a Whisky Lover, anyone out the
I love whiskey too. Mostly scotch whiskey. Didn't know there's whiskey from Japan. How is the taste like compared to scotch? I like my whiskey neat undiluted. Usually I will inhale the smell of my whiskey before drinking it. Taste better that way.

I am hunting for Hibiki 17 years, anyone knows where I can find it locally?

haha...
Re: Is there anyone out there a Whisky Lover, anyone out the
I somehow feel that it is not quite worth now as the Japanese Whisky prices all like jacked up due to the awards. Almost double in the prices compare to 2 - 3 years ago.
