Hi,



I wanted to try on adjusting my Seiko SARB033 myself and therefore bought a cheap watch tool kit online and follow this Youtube link which have the same toolkit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT5tO_UTDYU"http://i62.tinypic.com/2u4289t.png" alt="" loading="lazy">



When I tried to link back to the watch band, the needle is so loose that it can be come out from either side. I already tried 4 combinations to put in the needle in but to no avail.









Should have just go to some watch shop and let the expert adjust :(



Not sure if there is still a chance to recover due to my mistake?

Or can anyone recommend me where to buy this original band and recommended any shop to get replacement?

When you remove the pin, did you keep the collar ?



It's a very small piece of collar around that pin, that hold it in the bracelet.

I tried removing links for the first time few days back and managed to fix them back. However, I noticed one of the pins has a spring "collar" and one don't have, anything wrong with that?

all pin will have the collar.. it either drop out while you took out the pin or the collar is still inside the band link when the pin is out .. you can reuse the collar from other removed link if you lost it..

Just note what kind of setup is the bracelet.



Split pins, pin/collars.



Split pins usually found in lower range models.

I am sure your collar is stuck in the tool kit extractor pin.

I have resized a Sarb033 bracelet before and it's using pin and collar. You have to make sure you reinsert the needle in the opposite direction to the arrow sign and the pin collar inserted into the inner side of the other bracelet end. Not sure if you know what I meant

Another question.

After resizing the watch (removed one link) and wear it for 1 day, I felt it is a bit tight for me.



I am wondering if I can adjust the following by moving it from red circle to blue circle?





If not, I wonder is there any customized link which have a shorter length?

Else, I have to bear with it.

Yes that's what we call micro adjustments.



It's a bit of art, removing links from the 12 or 6 o'clock segment. It's usually like 6/3 7/4 or something like that.



At least you managed on your own !

Just to add on to bro roo7, the 6/3 7/4 split is to ensure the clasp is exactly opposite of the watch case, square at the centre of the wrist for maximum comfort. Different clasp size will require split for the bracelet in the 6 and 12 o'clock segment.

Agree with bro roo7, it's a bit of an art to the get the right fit and alignment. It takes some practice to get it right. You have to have a good eyesight and lots of patient when resizing the watch band as you are working with small parts especially the collar. Make sure you have a proper working desk and good lighting so you can see what you are doing and if any parts went missing you can find it back.

Moving forward if I have more free time, I would like to explore further on:

1) Changing watch strap

2) How to further utilized this cheap watch toolkit from Qoo10 > http://list.qoo10.sg/item/16IN1-WATCH-REPAIR-KIT-SET-WATCH/423191688" false;

3) How can I make my stainless steel watch strap more shiny or removed the scratch mark.



For point 1 above, it would be great if anyone can recommend me some online/offline shop to purchase nice and quality strap for my watch?



For point 3, based on my post #1 in this thread, there are some scratch mark. I researched and found some people actually used Scotch-Brite Green / Grey version to clean the watch.

Would like to hear any user experience and feedback on this?

Is it available at any supermarket?
