Best Place to see/buy Seiko in Singapore

Best Place to see/buy Seiko in Singapore
Hi

I'm in Singapore at the moment on business for a couple of weeks. Can anyone give me any recommendations on good places to visit with a view to buying a watch? I've had a quick search on this forum and a place called K2 seems to be mentioned quite often

thanks

This mall called "The Bencoolen" offers a good spread of Seikos. Immediately beside Bencoolen is OG Albert Complex, which also has Seiko on the second level. Across the road from OG is Sim Lim Square, where the brick-and-mortar shop front of superchrono>com is located.

Hi Stevoc,

K2's more of a corner watch repair shop than a retail store, though Mr. Goh does have some random new pieces in his display. Not the best place to be going shopping for watches, though every now and again he does have some mint pre-owned ones (including an SBDX001 recently if I'm not mistaken) as well which could be an added attraction to going cross-town to see. It's not in the city center, however, but one can easily take a quick MRT/bus/taxi ride across to Paya Lebar.

King Wah and Twinkle Electronics (both in Roo's link) would be good places to look into. They've both have reasonable prices on Seikos with some decent discounts off retail, though I think only regulars get their 'best price'. Mustafa's a given; I'm guessing you already had them on your list of to-do's.

Watch Fashion (a.k.a. skywatches.com.sg) is located in the same complex as Twinkle but one floor up, though just be aware that prices are higher in person than online and you would want to bargain them down; on the other hand, you could save yourself the aggravation by purchasing it from their website (pay shipping, but you'd miss the GST if it's out of Singapore).

Thong Sia's prices will be higher, but it might be worth checking out their showroom for the high end pieces especially (Grand Seiko's / Ananta's, etc).

Cheers, and have a good trip in Singapore!

Thanks for your responses every one. I'm staying in a hotel in Clarke Quay and looking at googlemaps, Twinkle seems to be the closest. I'm hoping to have a look over the weekend if I have time. I'm also planninmg a trip to Sim Lim, so will check out the Bencoolen

thanks

Re: Best Place to see/buy Seiko in Singapore
BTW, if you plan to buy any electronics from Sim Lim, remember to look out for black listed shops, they are a very scary bunch.
Re: Best Place to see/buy Seiko in Singapore
to be on the safe side , dont buy ANYthing from sim lim without first doing your research

they are known to charge exorbitant prices for foreigners
Re: Best Place to see/buy Seiko in Singapore
Thanks again for your advice. I went to Sim Lim, but didn't buy anything. I was looking for a camera, but every shop I went to quoted a ridiculous price, far higher than I know I can get it for back in the UK.

I then went to Twinkle, where Jennifer sold me a SNZH51 for a price I was more than happy with. Very refreshing - no silly starting prices, I asked how much, she told me a price, I was happy with it, watch sold - now if some of the shops in Sim Lim operated like that, maybe they'd sell more.

congrats on ur SNZH51 purchase from Twinkle, stevoc :)

Try Peninsular Shopping Centre/Plaza (Cityhall) if you are looking for camera.

There are a few photography experts here, I believe they should be able to direct you to the best shop :)

If you have time for today, why not pop down to K2 & have a look?

Tanjong Katong Complex (alight at Paya Lebar MRT Station)

Let Mr Goh know you're from Seiko Club :D He opens shop at about 2pm

At the same time, it's close to Hari Raya , a festive season for our Malay race in Singapore & that area is bustling with activities :)
