Which to buy?

Which to buy?
Tempted to pick up one of the following watches-



Citizen AQ1010-54E



I tried this on, and strangely not small on the wrist. The ultimate set and forget watch with +/-5spy accuracy, perpetual calendar and eco drive. Around 2,700



Or





Damasko Dc57 black, nice clean dial which is all lume, hardened case and coating up to 2,500 vickers. Around 2,600



Or





Sinn 358 the basic model with solid case back, acrylic crystal and no special tech. Around 2,600



Or



Casio Oceanus OCW-G1000

Very high tech with GPS and radio control for time correction, world time etc, all titanium case and bracelet but only a 24min stop watch? Around 2,400 from Japan or 2,800 from G factory.



Torn between old tech tough watch or higher tech goodness?



Of course the wife is all for the Sinn and is very much against the Casio and Citizen. She thinks I am mad to want to spend more than a few hundred for a Casio or citizen....

Nooooo I don't think I will ever get one... Don't even use iPhone now... But hor if it needs a phone to function.. Quite pointless?

Seriously... @ that kind of budget, i wouldn't give any electronic quartz watch a look, no matter how accurate they can get, in whatever timezone.

Even if i can afford, what if after some years... perhaps due to accidental ignorance, battery leaked, PCB busted up... how much will i have to burn to get it work again :?:



Mechanical is the only choice for me. Be it 2k, 3k, or higher, as long as there's watchmaker can do the service to the timepiece, it's sufficient liaoz.

Is it just me or do you guys feel that the Citizen greatly resembles one of those Grand Seiko Spring Drives.



Anyway, to OP: I'll pick the Damasko if i were you.



And if the apple watch came with that model in fishnet stockings, I'll pick that over anything else. :)

Ahaha I wish it comes with the model in fishnet too.. My logic points me towards the damasko as well as it appears they regulate their watches quite well.. Though I think perhaps the non black version of the same watch..?



Yeah the Citizen looks like a GS... I wish they didn't put the power reserve on the dial



I guess for accuracy.. My still being serviced sbcm023 will have to do?

I liked the Citizen, elegant looking, but too bad it's not mechanical.

I tried on the oceanus, the astron with chronograph and the Citizen wave F100.



I love the unique citizen case shape but dislike the hands and dial appearance. The astron was larger and thicker than the other two plus a lot more casual looking as well. The oceanus is smaller, thinner and the design is more versatile. Can go with almost any dressing? And being the cheapo that I am, for the oceanus the price is lowest vs features (found that can order from Japan for around 1600USD)..u get GPS/radio signal, full titanium case plus bracelet, great finishing etc..

damask for me.



the case hardening technology totally kick ass, tested & proven with my ex-DA36



although using a 7750 but it's still a reliable movt.



Sinn 356, not really as Sinn uuses Sellita now

Ya, I was hoping someone can feed back about the durability of damasko cases. From my user experience with sinn. Their submarine steel really isn't any more scratch or ding resistant versus normal steel, I feel it's the finishing that hides minot scuffs well. But their tegimented bezels are rock solid though... Heard to damage.

F100 I tried at the aptimos at lucky Plaza, after discount a hit less than 2k. The Citizen boutique at MBS also carry.

Not even a tiny mark on the case.



tbh, I am totally impressed.



I managed to put 2 nicks on my U1 tegimented pvd bezel though but the last I heard, only the case is tegimented.



The crown, bezel & clasp is not tegimented.

Thanks for the info CEO, as I always have the feeling that Damasko is better in scratch resistance.

I dont think they have a diver, hope to see them do it.

They seem focused on pilot watches..? I wonder how truly in house is their manufacture movements?

+1 on the citizen. i prefer clean dials... it feels a bit like a cross between a seiko sarb (bracelet) and seiko spring drive (PR indicator).
