Orient Star GMT WZ0071DJ

Just returned from Tokyo with this newly released model. First saw it at Yeoman's blog and was attracted to the blue dial so I intended to search for it there.



It's a really dark navy blue shade similar to that of the Omega AT skyfall. Very nicely done with a mix of polished and brushed surfaces. The red GMT hand and text really stands out from the blue dial. I was comparing both black and blue and went with the latter since I have neither a blue dial nor a gmt yet. The position of its PR in the center balances the dial nicely for me. To me it's an improvement over the Star Seeker model.



If it was slightly smaller and thinner, it would have been perfect. I do find it slightly heavy and thick right now. Hopefully I will get used to its heft.

It's JDM but big time may bring it in? There are other JDM models sold locally. Just a matter of time.

Yup it was released in NOV. It's about 80k yen after the 8% tax rebate and an additional 5% discount for using Visa card at Yodobashi.

80k yen is around $850 after all the discount means it is more ex than the last gen. Last gen can be had around $600-$700

It's a beauty, I got the earlier OS GMT and the recently released Orient Classic GMT, luv them. Sure would luv to own this too.
