yeah, i've been known to do that on several occasions. thankfully I have a good head on my shoulders and never break the bank. how come??

I use an auction sniper

Bidded for two items that looks the same and everyone was outbidding the previous bid. Plus the price was still low. So i got the hang of it and keep bidding. Lol. Luckily i came to my senses and decided a max price that i can except.
