Affordable dress watch
Hey guys. My next item on the list is this one as I've read good feedback from WUS guys. What do you think? Would appreciate if you can share yours for recommendations :mrgreen:

I had the exact same one briefly. Got it for $75 from mustafa, super value for money. Actually looks classy on the wrist...only thing is I found it just a little too small for me?

Wow didnt know Mustafa sells watches. Thanks for the info. Perhaps you swap it with leather. They say it looks fine whwn you wear it with a shirt. Not my pic but just sharing it here.

My recommendation is the Bambino as I find Seiko 5s too small.
True and I do find it attractive as well. It is expensive than this Seiko 5 though.

For me, the sweet size for a dressier watch is around 38mm to 40mm, most of the dressy seiko5 tend to be around less than 37mm. Haven't bought a bambino yet as I find it too dressy?
I use to think the same.
But after flipping ally divers I've gotten used to wearing the classic dress watch size 35-37mm.
38-40mm is the modern dress watch sizes.

Lol anyway we can replace the dial to get rid of it? Not that really into the logo. Is this Seagull available anyway in SG? Checked online and its worth $110 USD

There are many versions of this style of watch from seagull. The 110USD version if new should be for the m186s with st16 movement.
There is a more expensive variant the 819.368 with the better st21 which is based on the eta2824.

Singapore u can try seagull sg at Adelphi but the price will not be very friendly. But if anything goes wrong warranty work can be done by them.

I cannot get over the Seiko 5 badge.... althought I have a few Seiko 5s
With all due respect to Seiko 5 owners, me included, I feel that the dial looks cleaner and nicer without the Seiko 5 badge. Seiko 5 is undoubtedly a great series -- reliable and affordable, with tens of thousands of models and designs to choose from.

Possibly CitiChain as they do carry Seagull. Saw a few at Vivo (b2 level), but can't recall if this model was there.
yup city chain carries seagull, but the price is like incredible, i think the 819.368 with the st21 movement costs close to 400-500?

Taobao..hmm I wouldn't buy from there unless u do enough research.

Has anybody ordered from Dutyfreeislandshop online? Said they're based in HK. Their new Orient bambino is affordable than AD I think?

Much cheaper by a blue bill I was quoted over the holiday evening... provided if you're comfortable with the lack of warranty, or the hassle of sending it back to HK if have problem in the future...

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask where you got the quotation from? I only know of Big Watch as an AD for Orient so just want to get verification.

Oh really? Just went there and was told this new bambino, as well as the first version are priced close to 300 SGD, excluding any discount of course. Too over my budget for now so I'll hold off or settle for something else lol

Depending on your confidence on those online parallel goods... you can get a better savings than most of us here who mostly buys BigTime imports. Still, compare to other makes, the Bambinos are still good choice for different outfits for its' uber classique look.
Should you had went through some of the local forum posts... ehh... i mean SeikoClub as well as HardWareZone, each have its period of Bambino craze.
If you want to look for anything more budget friendly... SEIKO's recent dress pieces with "somekind of" classique vibes is the lowest in town with the good old trust worthy workhorse grade 7s26 movements.

True and I want to get one myself coz it just looks good. Any best place to get one affordable? Sure hope parallel imports sell 150-200... :lol:

Hmmm... there's someone named Mr./Doc./Encik GOH mentioned in the Seikopedia/FAQ section... maybe you can get some ideas there?
