Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
Hi guys , im new to this forum and I recently just started collecting seikos .I've got dips on their dive watches . Anyway , back to the topic at hand . I have a blue seiko sumo SBDC003 with a scratched bezel insert . I've been looking at local shops and asking them about a replacement bezel insert and they asked me to send it back to the agent or thongsia . where can I get this replacement bezel "locally" for my blue seiko sumo apart from yobokies which is based overseas in china . I've read mixed reviews about him . Some say he's THAT good and a pleasure to do business with . Some also say that he doesn't package the parts he sends properly and as a result the parts arrive somewhat damaged and its pain in the ass after that to get a replacement from him . So does anyone here know where I can get my bezel insert replaced and fixed here locally in SG ? Also I have a skx009j thats having problems after wore it while hammering stuff . It runs some time . And other times it doesn't . Im planning to get this repaired but how do I find a local watchmaker who does not overcharging me with a problem he canf fiz easily .

TIA GUYS !
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
give Thong Sia a call & ask for a quote for the SUmo insert

Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
Yup as bro lunarin mentioned, skx009 I am sure Mr. Goh can fix it easily and at a good price too,

Fir the sumo insert if u want u can also check out Yobokies for various 3rd party options and styles? Once u buy from him, Mr. Goh can swap them..
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
So far I only heard about damaged glass bezel insert send out by Harold.

Think metal insert should be quite safe. Can order the sapphire crystal since no longer going to be stock anymore

Sorry for the typos..am using auto correction.
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
@lunarin79 are u sure thongsia can sell me the bezel insert ? Coz I read in a forum somewhere(I forgot where) that they don't sell u seiko parts . U have to leave your watch and let them send it to seiko directly . As for my 009 its been my beater watch so its received quite a substantial amount of knocks and I also go swimming in the sea with it but there's no sign of any water leaks since the glass is full of scratches but no fogging . There's a clinking noise coming from within the case when I shake it and it doesn't seem to hold power reserve well (sometimes it runs for a whole day after shaking it. Sometimes it stops just after a few minutes . Sometimes it doesnt even move) so I was thinking . Is it more worth it to just service the movement or just fit in a new movement(if mr goh sells movements) or just get a spanking new 009 ? Fyi my 009 has never done a service since its been with me I think around 7 years ago . I only started to collect seiko divers recently coz of my 009 and its durability .
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
@doinkydoink I heard there was one guy who ordered a bezel insert that came scratched and in his review he said that it was a pain to get the replacement from harold . can't say for sure coz I haven't dealt with harold personally . But imo his work on seiko parts is quite solid . Its only the way he packages the parts is abit unprofessional and cheap so I've heard .

Maybe you try calling TS tomorrow to check if they only replace only the insert or you might have to replace the whole bezel if TS doesn't sell only the insert.

Servicing a 009 probably won't cost you much, best is bring the watch down to K2 and let Mr Goh give you a quotation then you decide whether to get it service.
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
For my solar Chrono thong sia would only replace the entire bezel. Cost me $70.
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
Will give them a call tomorrow and check whether they do sell it and update u guys here . Thanks again . U guys are a great help !

if not wrong, you need to provide them the watch model number for reference instead of 'Seiko Sumo'/
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
U mean sbdc003 ?
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
They probably don't sell it by itself but replace it for a fee.
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
If I am not mistaken, the insert must be ordered with the bezel itself, comes as a set from Thong sia.

I would not recommend parts for yobokies lately, the QC and CS getting from bad to worse.

If dagaz is selling sumo insert. I recommend you get from him then sent in to K2 for a swap out.

Ya I would like to get it from thong sia If possible but I dont want them to replace the bezel for me . I want to have it as a spare and replace it myself . Gotta check with them tomorrow and see if they sell the bezel with the insert by itself.
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
Hi guys . So I called thongsia already regarding my seiko sumo bezel insert. They told me that they dont sell just the bezel insert and that I would have to purchase the entire bezel . The cost is $81 excluding gst . Do u guys think its worth it ?
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
I will say cheap because: http://forums.seikoclubsg.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3178" false;

Anyway, depends if you can accept the battle scars, or else just get the after market insert...
Re: Advice please guys on aftermarket parts for seiko .
Very cheap liow. Maybe can see any brother need the bezel only then can split cost?

Wahh roo7 . So expensive u kena ?! Then I considered lucky the guy quote me 80plus excluding gst . I can accept battle scars on my other seikos , just not on my blue sumo . Its a birthday gift from a loved one and I want to keep it as close to mint as possible. (I know some brothers here will tell me to put in safe or display cabinet. Lol)
