Is it wise to buy a SKX007 now?
Hi pals,



I was thinking of getting a SKX007 with oyster bracelet as my versatile wearer. However, the model has been out for a while already and I am concerned that Seiko might come up with a new version of the 007, perhaps with 4R36 movement.



If so, is there good reason to get a SKX007 now? I already have a SKX009 but it's a gift so I don't wish to 'over-use' it.

Why not? If a new model comes out with a different movement, you can get that too. You may not like the new styling though. One can also argue that if a replacement is coming out, the sooner you get the 007, the more worthwhile it will be. Afterall you don't want to buy and the next day a new model comes out isn't it... :D



Basically it boils down ro whether you want it? And whether you need it? If its a matter of need, then one watch is enough. If its a want thing, then again why not?

Agreed. Just do it! Can't go wrong with a 007.

I don't believe that a refresh of the 007 is coming anytime soon? If it does it's a good excuse to buy another watch right?

Buy a cheap dress watch with 4r movement then swap the movement.



Even more high end find a 6r movement to replace. :o

But it's not just a matter of dropping in the new movement right? Have to modify the crown stem if I'm not wrong.

I really don't like 7S26, hope the new 007 come out soon.
