Seiko Sumo Vs Deep Blue Master

Hello guys,



am thinking of getting a diver watch (well, not exactly for diving purpose), and i am considering between a SEIKO Sumo and a Deep Blue Master 2000 (if im right) currently.



looking at the price point, there might not be too much of a difference as i can get the sumo in Japan pretty easily and the Deep Blue in sg.



Most probably will change the strap to nato/zulu/leather styling...in a dilemma as the lug size for SUMO is at 20mm hence the hesitation.



May i get some views and advices from you all?

Deep blue case is big and if u have a 6" wrist like me, its too big imo. I will go for a Sumo anyday.

I would go for the sumo as it's still on my wish list. Had a chance to molest it last weekend, feels so comfortable, dun feel like taking it off.

For me the only reason why not to get the sumo is the sapphire glass. This has always been one of its weakness when compared to other watches at its price point.

Really wanted to try wearing a SUMO on my wrist as i heard so much about it comfort. BIG TIME in Takashimaya is no longer then and i tried going to places in SG to look for it, but cant as they all dont carry. Anyway shall decide it soon! Thanks!!

Honestly I have never had any problems with hardlex and I am quite a klutz.

I dun have any issues as well but sometimes its just Abit difficult to forget the fact.:-)

Can always get a third party sapphire crystal to replace if you are not going diving.

But are we comparing apple to apple? 200m vs 2000m WR watches?



Hardlex gets scratched easily. Sapphire does gets scratched too although it's resistance is higher.

To hv the same impact resistance, the hardlex will hv to be made slightly thicker.

Having said that, if you drop them both onto a hard tile or brick paving floor.... It will smash.



I don't see any pros and cons when it comes to hardlex and sapphire... Just buy what u feel is worth spending on.

I do agree about the Sumo case, it is beautiful, the lines, the "semi bezel guard", the slightly sunken towards the centre lugs. All this make Sumo case outstanding, not withstanding the strong Seiko lume for divers, just a slight exposure to light when u get to a dimmer area, it starts to glow~~~
