Modding my Old 007

Dug my old neglected 007 out and wow it's keeping time to the tune of -1 to -2s per day, amazing accuracy. Not sure how long that will last though? It used to run at -6s to -8s per day. Now I know why one of my friend's daily beater is still the 007 that I gave him 6 years back. Really a robust and the 7S26 truly is a low maintenance engine.



Sadly one of the stock jubilee end links seemed to have been a little deformed during storage separately in another box, so the gap between endlink and case is too large for me to tolerate, to cure that I ordered a super jubilee from strapcode



Wanted to preserve the look and I find jubilees to be super comfy as they are less rigid..

However, I am planning to give this old watch a new look by changing the bezel to this



Kermit bezel insert from dagaz and also swap the hands for this



MM300 hands in C3 lume from Yobokies.



So what do u guys think? Looks good or will the Kermit bezel spoil the whole package? Any other swee bezel suggestion?



If I can find one I would also swap in a dial from an SKX171 as I prefer applied markers and framed date window, if not I will keep the original dial.

1. On the bracelet's curved end link, that one can be adjusted. Since not all jubilees in the market are in solid form. I believe with some bending on the "hook" part, it should be able to close the gap. Anyway... since you're planning to give it an refreshing look, shop for a new bracelet ba...

2. The Green bezels looks good. Reference to a picture posted in HWZ, there was a mod recently on 007 with also a Green bezel. However, the end result looks more like a HELSON, with the slightly less cluttered dial.

3. The dial and hands combo looks good, and should pair well with the casing of the 007 that balance well with one another. But the thinner Green bezel may not...

I think the combo will look nice.

The "Marine" wording on the dial is slight too big I feel... otherwise the combo will look good.



By the way, is the green insert metallic or flat green?

I am.installing the mm style hands but retaining the stock 007 dial, unless I can get my hands on a skx171 dial. I am going with the green insert from Dagaz which is metallic right?

Curious, how are you gonna install all these mod?

Once the hands are here I will pay Mr. Goh a visit, hopefully he will be able to swap the hands for me in a jiffy. The last time I was there, a dial and hands change took 15mins tops.

The 171 dial is a good original alternative. Or go all the way n get a green dial!

Super Jubilee from strapcode is here..great quality and the endlink fit is tight...screw links made it easy to size and clasp is made of machined steel. Too bad no Seiko on the clasp and no dive extension. Adds weight and a "quality" feel to the watch. Seiko really should up their bracelet quality. This is the type of bracelet that their Superior range of ISO divers should ship on.





Still waiting for the MM300 hands to arrive.

No luck with sourcing a SKX171 dial....

Popped over to K2 during lunch to get my MM style hands fitted on my 007...

Wish the lume isn't so green on the hands but okay la, i prefer the shape of these over the stock hands. The strapcode super jubilee is very solid and comfy. Still hunting for a SKX171 dial or sterile MM300 style dial. Also considering swapping the bezel insert for a glass insert with lume from Harold. Anyone can comment on the quality of Harold's glass inserts?
