How many watches you own at one time?
Being a newbie, the initial rush into this hobby was just too strong and now it seems crazy. My wife is making noise, and thinking to myself, I do agree with her I went overboard.



It all started 2 months ago. when I changed the battery for my one and only daily watch, a G-shock, myself. Then I went on to change my wife's G-shock battery and a $20 quartz that I didn't bother to wear. So the hunt for watch batteries progressed to hunting for watches. And within these 2 months I bought 9 watches. And there's a china Parnis and a G-shock on the way. Do you guys think this is too much or this the norm behavior of a watch collector?

As Lgt stated, as long as its within your financial means, what is too little, too much or enough? In all hobbies there are extremes, there are minimalist - nothing wrong with both. Do what you are most comfortable with. As long as you the owner knows why you are buying, that is what matters the most. :D

Guess I'm just only had began... More to come? Already I had more than 10 items on my watch list on ebay. Wouldn't want the wife to know.

Welcome to the club..



Good luck on your journey... like what most bros here said, buy what you can afford, buy what sings to you and not you think others may like, learn more before buying more. Imho, a hobby is just a hobby, do not let it interfere with or run your life. There are infinitely more joys in life than a single hobby.

And I have tried to reason myself to stop. I only have two arms, at most I can squeeze 3 watches per arm, so at one outing, the most I can wear 6 watches. I shouldn't be buying anymore... :D

Nooo nooo not normal..quick stop now...all anyone needs is just one watch...one that can be worn for all occasions.

Then you will reach a stage where you buy a watch based on the types of movement, to justify what you are paying for.



Then u will flip those watches which you bought initially.



Then you will become more focused after 1-2 years and soon, your collection by now, will e more stable with a particular 'theme'.

Currently I only have 2 Seiko 1 G-Shock and 1 Calvin Klien(a gift from mom) I didn't really collect watch just buy watch that I really like, one of the reason is also I didn't have the financial ability to keep buying hahaha.

As Lgt stated, as long as its within your financial means, what is too little, too much or enough? In all hobbies there are extremes, there are minimalist - nothing wrong with both. Do what you are most comfortable with. As long as you the owner knows why you are buying, that is what matters the most. :D

Got paint, got scratch, got my smelly sweat smell and some dun know what dirt.



I think is the only pc avail in the world

I currently own 3 automatics - started out obsessed with the pilot themed watches from IWC but since I can't afford that, eventually I added 2 flieger - a Laco and then later the Nav-B 47mm chrono from Steinhart.



Then the obsession faded away, only to be re-ignited this year with a new desire for dive watches. I then added the Shogun (SBDC-007) from Seiko and if everything goes smoothly I will soon add the Marine Master 300m from Seiko this week. :)



I will also add another flieger from Stowa coming in early May. Dithering on whether to keep the Laco and Steinhart, since the former I no longer wear at all and after experiencing how the Shogun sits nicely on my wrist, I am less tolerant on how the Nav-B Chrono simply doesn't sit well on my wrist at all...



Going on, I suspect I will only look at watches that are less than 44mm just to be same. :)
