Need urgent help...!!

Need urgent help...!!
Okay I made a really stupid noob mistake today. While swapping a Zulu onto my orient ray tonight for the weekend, I grabbed a spring bar from my straps case and slapped it on, only to realize it was a shoulder less bar....after the deed was done.



Now I can't get it off as the ray does not have drilled lugs.



Any suggestions as to who or where I can take it to tomorrow afternoon for safe removal of the spring bar?

Maybe you can take it to K2 for Mr. Goh to help you? He is friendly and very helpful. Of course you gotta wait a bit if he is busy with customers, to be fair.

You should still be able to remove it..... Lucky it's on Zulu.

Use a Swiss Army knife and some fiddling it should be out soon.

Tried it, there is still some space between the lug and the spring bar and I could slip the flat end of a jewellers screw driver and spring bar tool in, but no amount of pushing and pressing had worked, ended up putting a scratch on my case when the tool slipped.....:cry:

Yup is he open tomorrow? I think need to seek professional help...either k2 or big time since its an Orient? Maybe need to cut the spring bar or something...:(

If yiu get 1 of those sprinbar tools,with the fork end it will be able to remove. I have used mNy shouderless spring bar as well, and somemore it,s those thick 2.5mm ones. If it,s so tight even springbar tool can,t remove, likely you used a springbar that was too long. Definitely can,t be need to cut if it,s the right size spring bar. Anyway, like everyone says, k2 should be able to help.

He is open on Saturdays. Big Time maybe able to help you too especially if you had bought something from them. But not sure who thier watchmaker is though as have onky seen the sales people so far.

Use a proper spring bar tool with the large sized fork. Try to pry back the spring bar.

Worse case scenario - cut the spring bar. :twisted:

I agree with Badern, face the fact, cut it. Fiddling to much with Tools and knifes will only result in new scratches on your precoius.....

Hmm okay gonna try to cut it with a cutter first, hopefully will be able to find a cutter small enough but strong enough to cut the spring bar without touching the case itself..if not then bring down to K2 or big time...sigh..

Phew my colleague managed to bend the bar and pop it off without damaging the lug holes.....:roll:

ya, lesson learnt, need to store my different size and types of spare spring bars in labeled containers or compartments. Good thing this happened to my orient ray...if i stuck the shoulder-less bars onto one of my more expensive watches, scratching it up would really "hurt"...





big scratch on bottom of case between lugs when my spring bar tool slipped when trying to force the spring bar out last night..
