Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
Bro U THE MAN!!! maybe u can try K2 loh...my skx011 was fitted with a 031/033 oyster...:)
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
K2 last Friday dun haf. ONI haf the salah oyster which I also got in the trade (not seller's fault - the salah oyster was sealed). Anyway, I'll probably buy another president, instead of oyster. My wrist needs 4.5 oyster links at the 6 o'clock side, which Seiko oyster cannot.
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
nice project done...cool man... 8-) ;)
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
Took less than 5 mins niah lah, not project hahaha...

I just popped the pepsi bezel also. Either I'm colour blind, or the 007 and 009 dial is exactly the same colour...

Good job bro. Nice change over.

Seiko dun hv the oyster bracelet anymore for the skx007/009/011 case anymore iirc.

Best to get an aftermarket one.
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
In the end I swap the pepsi bezel and jubilee onto the new 007, put the president from the 011 onto the 171, and the 171 bezel onto my old chui 009...

So now 011 no shoes, will go buy another president from Lao Goh.

Then 009 on 171 bezel is now on olive green Zulu, will serve beater duties...
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
The "leftover", my old scratched chui 009... strangely because it is quite beaten, it feels quite good to wear...

On my wrists this tiring day...

bro.. is that a 3ring Zulu? U gotten it local or??
Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
Yeah 3-ring Zulu. I got this from Win's at Bencoolen. I like that for 3-rings, it is easier to centre the buckle. But 5-rings are cool too, looks very rugged!

Re: Almost done.... My 171/007...
Sumo 20mm lugs leh, just use 20mm zulu lor... Win's got two shops there. One of them is opposite this shop called tootukei, the other one (dem crowded) is near the entrance selling dried food...

Bro, your president strap on SKX011J, is from K2 Mr Goh? When he fix it, he got do any slight modifications to it? For my oyster he used his screw driver to enlarge the end links lug spring pin holes so they can fit inside nicely. For your president strap did he do that?

The president bracelet is made to fit skx007/009/011 divers and can accept fat springbars. Just like the jubilee bracelet. No modifications is necessary. The end links also fits the curvature of the case nicely.

The oyster bracelet is made to fit the skx031/033 sports diver, which accept the normal spring bars. That's why Goh had to enlarge the end links. The skx031 case is slimmer too.

Ahh I didn't know that. No wonder he was using his screwdriver to "dig" the end links hole to make it bigger. At least Mr Goh is honest and never try to change my spring bars to the thin ones to fit the "wrong" Oyster into it, which he mentioned some watch makers will do to "cheat my springbars".

If he do that then the thin spring bars will be lose fitting on my lugs already, which makes things worse.

Dropping by K2 to see see for the president bracelet option for some testing. May or may not change to president.

big-e-294 is absolutely right. I didn't use the oyster that you see in my pics. Anyway this oyster bracelet doesn't work for my wrist size - at the 6 o'clock end, the minimum is 5 links, which is half a link too much. Coupled with the lack of flex, it makes for very poor fit.

Using thin springbars will cause loose fitting for the end-links, so either way it is a huge compromise in my opinion. The end-links can fit the SKX007/9/11 case nicely, and accepts fat springbars easily enough, but as far as I am concerned, the bracelet is no-go. After enlarging, the end of this wrong oyster doesn't wrap around the fat springbars as much as if you used the correct bracelet.

I agree bro. The lack of flex is irritating. For me the Oyster fits fine, perfect in my opinion, just the lack of flex gets on my nerves at times.

Popped by K2 a moment ago, get it changed to President bracelet, now I'm selling my oyster away.
