Itching for a chronograph

Itching for a chronograph
Thinking of adding a chronograph into my rotation, recently I sold off my O&W, now I don't really have a "modern" chronograph, apart from my Soviet vintages.

Any suggestions ? :ugeek:
Re: Itching for a chronograph

lemania 5100 mvt quite rare and hard to find now....
Re: Itching for a chronograph
Speaking of chronograph, there's a seiko one that is reminiscent of the speedmaster? which model is it? Sorry to hijack but don't want to purposely start a thread just to ask this one question.
Re: Itching for a chronograph
No, this Swatch is not using the Lemania 5100. Lemania 5100 movements are thicker.

Lemania 5100 movements are easy to recognise. The 12 o'clock register shows 24-hours. There are also FOUR main hands on the dial. Two hands show the traditional hours and minutes. The other two hands are for the chronograph. One chronograph hand shows the running seconds while the other shows the elapsed minutes. It is very easy to read the elapsed time, compared to other chronograph formats.

Here's an angled pic of one of my Lemania 5100:

I know citizen had one, haven't seen any seiko equiv though ...
Re: Itching for a chronograph
(copy n paste fm wus) the auto chrono has the new C01.211 movement (used in Swatch and Tissot chronographs) based on the Lemania 5100 (but with more plastic/synthetic parts, and two less jewels!).

Based on. Not Lemania 5100. The functionalities are very different.
Re: Itching for a chronograph
depends on budget n movt you want to find unless u more into brands nia.. lotsa swiss auto/mechan to look for...used/new/vintage is also another factor..

IMO get a trusty chrono by movt as pirority..

Re: Itching for a chronograph

Re: Itching for a chronograph
How about a E210 watch from Citizen... Sure, it's Eco-drive and not an Auto, but it's a pretty cool movement in it's own right. Plus, new designs just launched, perhaps they'll do it for ya?

Must say though, they need to do something about the dial/hands contrast.... the picture of the white-dial looks ridiculous!

I like the Orient Star but baby blue colour a bit feminine. Anyway might as well get a flightmaster since use same movement and price about the same.

Re: Itching for a chronograph

Wow, nice... but how does it work ?

You have 1 set of start/stop/reset pushers, you have another pusher on the 10'o clock to select which chrono to start ?
Re: Itching for a chronograph
it depnds on what movement it runs on , most older rattrapante movement are less sophisticated , only 2 pushers . 1st pusher starts both chrono hands running, press again to stop the 2nd hand , 2nd pusher to reset both..

modern rattrapante can have 3 pushers for better control over the use of the split timing function
Re: Itching for a chronograph
Cheem, so it's for lap timing ?
Re: Itching for a chronograph
