Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?

Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
After buying my 1st monster from K2, I've caught the Seiko bug. Itching to get another one! Thinking of another monster... Then saw the Sumo... Almost struck a deal for it, but after a chat with Mr Goh, I came to understand that other than the increased power reserve, the movement isn't that much better than what's in the MM300.

Recently sold my Orient daily beater, and was thinking of replacing it with the MM300. Love the build, movement and look of the MM300.

But... Due to expensive milk powder and diapers, $2.5k needs some saving up... To expedite, as per the topic, should I flip the Proteus for the MM300? :p

My take? You should. MM has a far greater perceived value than the latter. If you can find a decent price to flip, you have my blessings.

Good Luck!
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
I would, the mm300 is in a much different league
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
I would as I believe the build quality is much better.

Heard of watchrecon before. Are they like a portal for people to sell or they're the shop itself? I suppose it's not a local website right?
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
Go for the MM300.
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
Coming to Seiko forum to ask this question, we will of course say go for the mm300. Maybe you can try asking this question in the Steinhart forum and see what the people there say. Ultimately it all boils down to how much you like the watch......personal preference. My 2 cents :)
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?

Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
Pick your poison.

Proteus definitely have wrist presence with the long lug to lug length. The only thing that pissed me off is the changing of straps. Totally unfriendly.

Lumer award goes to MM300. Proteus doesn't stand a chance.

Still the proteus is strapped on my wrist now as the date is nearer lol.

Shouted across the road.
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?
Had the MM300 for a while, in fact 1 month only b4 i flip it for my grail, honestly, if i could only afford 1 watch and the budget not more than 3K, MM would be my choice.

Its everything u'll need, looks rugged enough for sports and elegant enough for dinners, on the top of that, u'll get some attention wearing it, only cons its that its a little top heavy, need to wear it just nice or fitting but overall solid watch, u'll need to hold it in ur hands to feel it than u'll understand.
Re: Should I flip my Steinhart Proteus for a MM300?

I tried it while looking for a Sumo previously...

Sold my Proteus, now waiting for a MM300 to come along... :|
