MM300 on smaller wrists
Anyone knows if the MM300 bracelet can fit a 6-6.5inch wrist without modifications? Im considering this piece but I read in other forums that the bracelet will still be too long even after all the links are removed? :(

My wrist is same as yours and the answer is...



Yes it will fit but



No it wont look nice. The clasp is really long and it will jut out at the 12 oclock side. Impossible to get the watch centred. For us we need to remove one more link at the 6 oclock side but no such option unless u cut it.

If you're not diving with it, can consider changing the clasp to a smaller non diver one.

I find the mm300 clasp more comfortable than sumo clasp.

I know some rolex dealers have a tool to pry open the oyster fixed links safely, wonder if I could borrow the tool and use on the mm300 :lol:

Apparently it is possible. But both bigtime n ah goh declined doing it.



I changed it to sumo bracelet before. Much better fit but didnt like the idea of it being not original... as the original racheting clasp is one of its selling points to me.



Had nato but didnt like it sitting so tall on my wrist

5"9 for my puny wrist and it is slightly slanted.



Guess I can live with it. Probably you can give it a try from any of the owners including me of course before moving in on one.

From serial number, this is a 9 year old watch but accuracy is +/- 0 sec within the first 24 hours :o

No. U can change it to a clasp with no diver extension.

I know TS has clasp with no diver extension and comes with 2 or 4 micro adjustment (depending).

U may wanna bring ur watch down to try it out.

I think its well build for its price point, the bezel is very silky smooth to turn but I think the bezel insert is a finger print magnet.

The dial is easy to read and the lume glows like most Seiko divers, like a torch. Metal date wheel is a nice touch that you dont even see it on many more expensive watches.

Some would have prefered sapphire on this model but there is only 1 tiny mark on the AR of the hardlex on my piece, pretty good for a 9 year old watch.

The case sits high on the wrist and is a little top heavy but not uncomfortable on my 6-6.2 inch wrist. The watch wears smaller than it measures, smaller than the Sumo or the DSSD, lugs curves downwards slightly so it does not stick out of the wrist like some other watches of that size do. Strap change is fast and simple with the lug holes.



Now to the bracelet.

All my concerns about the bracelet in this thread seems excessive as the bracelet fits well for my wrist with all the links removed, the clasps is a little long and not centered to the wrist but its not uncomfortable the way it is. I'm not to sure why the choice of titanium for clasp instead of steel (knowing seiko there must be a technical reason) but the difference in material is slightly noticable, the titanium is a little darker. Some complain that the bracelet at 20mm is too small for the case but I think asthetically it looks okay.

I am not too sure if its a case of bracelet stretch for a old watch but there is noticable gaps between each link and when viewed from the side profile, the bracelet sits flush with the lugs but not with thick case.



Time keeping is amazing for this watch, not very suprising since its pretty much an unadjusted GS movement under the hood, about 36 hours in and its -1 second compared to my computer clock synced to microsoft servers. The 28800 bhp is also a huge plus compared to the 6r15 as the second hand is much smoother visually.



All in all, a very good watch for the price bracket it's in. I cannot think of many competitors at the same price point and would rate it comparable to the Tudor Black Bay in most areas, but the bezel action on the MM300 wins hands down.

So if compare to similar priced divers it's worth it? Anywhere I can take a look at the real thing? Is this worth getting or would a quartz tuna be better as a daily beater?

I think you could actually try it on at Big Time at Sims Avenue or Seiko Boutique at Vivocity. I owned a Sinn U1 and tried a Omega SMP (the non ceramic version, preowned, is about same price as a new MM300) and I prefer the MM300. Personally I think its comparable to Tudor Black Bay or the older 2500 calibre Omega Planet Ocean.



I think the choice between the MM300 and Tuna depends on whether if you are ok with quartz and if it's more toolish design is ok for your daily needs,. The MM300 dresses up better than the Tuna for more formal usage.

New question about the watch, thought ill just save space and post here.



Can I get the watch case/bracelet etc to be refinished at TS when I send it in for servicing?

I know most other brands do this but im not too sure on Seiko's policy on refinishing their watches.
