Help needed, is it genuine Seiko 6309-7040 ?
Good day guys :)

I'm planning to buy a Seiko 6309-7040 soon, after a few days of hunting....found one for sale on a blog. However, I doubt and didn't know much about Seiko vintage brand.

Do anybody here can determine is it genuine or fake? Hope the experts here can give me thoughts and welcome all opinions.

If it is a genuine seiko I hope can pull the trigger asap.

Regards

Re: Help needed, is it genuine Seiko 6309-7040 ?
unless you're getting one for modding purposes, then it's ok.

cos if you are buying it for personal wear, the constant 'ermm, aftermarket bezel insert, dial' thingy will keep nagging you in the mind..afterall, nothing beats the feeling of strapping on a 98 or 99% original classic 6309

for those on ebay, personally, i will only pay S$150 for one which have aftermarket parts on it. No more than S$150.

"nothing beats the feeling of strapping on a 98 or 99% original classic 6309" Im anger to think about that also....evil feeling  but unfortunately it's hard to get one with original condition, afraid it just a mod version and will end up with modern myth story and keep it inside desk :P

if the watch sing to you then buy it. Spork is hardly been seen at shop nowadays but often it will appear in SG-ROC or SWX. Be patient as it is ur 1st wishlist...

sing me a bit days ago......but after I dig on internet...have some reading and I realise it's hard to get, limited edition with special number/mark on the back case plus bracelet style, it's singing me more and more :D

what is the actual size, is it 43 or 42mm? Is it possible to add shrouder same like SRP453? I'm thinking of Yobokies parts :D
Re: Help needed, is it genuine Seiko 6309-7040 ?
Really looking for a 7040, and found a few on eBay. Did a bit of reading, and realized that it is a very tricky preposition to buy from ebay, especially with mostly Philippines sellers using a lot of aftermarket parts. I don't really mind aftermarket parts, but just want to get a nice 7040.

So I would like to seek the help of the experts here. Are these worth getting, and are there any red flags?

Most interested in this as it's made in (supposedly) 1985, my birth year.
