Moons back, I was poisoned by Seiko badly.



however in the recent months, it turned from bad to worse. I cant help myself. Thanks to bros (you know who you are :twisted: )

Seikos labelled "hi-beat" can be either 28,800bph or 36,000bph. Visually a 36,000bph is discernibly smoother than a 21,600bph. For 28,800bph, whether I can tell it apart from a 21,600bph depends on the length of the second hand.

Chris, when put next to one another in reality, a 21.6k bph, 28.8k bph & 36k bph movement will have some difference. And I believe most can tell the difference in the smoothness of the second hand. Accuracy is suppose to get better with a higher beat. However, it also means that servicing should be more frequent with constant use. Hope this little bit of my understanding helps.



Ivan said it - wallet will be thinner (bank account smaller) with more and more targets. But most important is that you are happy buying what you like and not blindly following trends or someone else IMHO.

When u first started with 1 seiko.

You started looking at other design and models, and it just too many....... and they are so affordable.



Then u will hoot as many as possible to boost your collection. U hoot as fast as u can. No theme or preference. Just hoot.



Then u realise some of it, u wont even wear it. Then u start trimming ur collection.



Then, u r more specific. U will go for a more acquired taste of ur own, be it tunas, divers, vintage or GS..... blah blah



Then, u slow down.

Then u started to switch off.

Then u will go and do other things.

Then u will 1 day look at ur watch and suddenly...... u feel like hooting all over again.



Then u started the HUNTING game.

Where u might only hoot 1 or 2 in a yr.



Then....... u just smile crazily at ur own collection. It is part of the game.

When you understand what you like, you will likely to consolidate and move into the area where you like best.
