The ideal price is the price that you are willing to pay for.



Try looking at past sales thread to get a gauge of the selling price and decide from there.

Around $2.8k for good condition non-m based on past sales.

Hi Redbull diver,



I am a recent owner of the above-mentioned watch. And I have been an avid vintage Seiko diver enthusiast since late 90s.

All I can say is that a few of these tuna cans have passed through my hands, but the last one I sold was many years ago (more than 5?). At that point in time, prices were about US$900 - US$1,200. Now they go for about US$2,000 for a good piece if you can find one. Average pieces are going for about US$1,500-1,800.



I pulled the trigger on mine (which is a very good piece, the black coating in immaculate condition, hands and markers nice patina, etc) for a princely sum close the my price ranges above. The reason I did it was precisely what roo7 was saying - I know these tuna cans are getting rarer and rarer and the prices keep going up. I was willing to part with what I did for the value I saw in it.



So ask yourself the following questions:

1) When was the last time you saw one for sale?

2) How much did it go for/the selling price was?

3) How good a condition was it in?

4) How much do you really want it?

5) What is the purpose of getting it? Some want it as an investment piece. Some want it for its rarity.



Once you have entirely satisfied yourself with your answers, pull the trigger at your highest price and don't look back. Once it is on your wrist, it will be all worth it :-)
