Watches with Power Reserve indication




This is my first gmt watch.

It is also my first watch with a power reserve indication.



I love to see how the power reserve (PR) needle move to max as I handwind the watch.



But recently I found another use of the power reserve.

One day I was rushing out the house to work and only had time to handwind it a couple of turns. It gave me a good 10 hrs of PR.

I went about my day as usual.

As the work day drew to a close I took a little time off and started to admire and play with my watch.

I soon noticed the PR indicator was only halfway full.



This made me think about my day and realised I wasn't as active as I thought I'd be. If I was active moving around my watch would hv been wound up more.



So fellow bros, the PR can also be a gd indication of how active you are during your day!!



We've all heard stories of guys who wonder why their watch stopped the next morning. All usually claim they are quite active and the watch is fully wound when they took it off.



So if u r curious (or have nothing else better to do) just for entertainment sake, wear your PR watch (if u hv one). Wind it to 1/3 PR and go about your day.



See how much your watch gets wound up just from u moving around in your daily activities.



(I know some watches wind up easier than others and blah blah blah... This isn't a science experiment. It's only for fun)

Walking definitely charge up very fast. That's how pedometer works when you attach them at your hips.



I know driving and sitting at the desk don't charge up a lot.

Plus minus, give and take.



Different watch probably charge differently

Power reserve indicator is very important for critical and dangerous missions. Worth to buy 1 to keep just in case. Haha...

Depends on the speed u shake n also the distance for each rep...

E.g ur 1 rep is 5inch distance n mine is 7inch so theres diff...

Need to shake all night long. Tomorrow shag, so not advisable. I prefer to just unscrew crown and manual wind until full power reserve.

70hr one shake harder and faster.

50hr one can shake relak relak one.



Come to think of it, my wife always ask me, why u keep shaking your watch? And always suan me all her watch automatic one, no need to shake, just need to change batt once every 2 to 3yrs nia....
