Have a look @ these 5 pictures here... and guess how much does the owner had paid for this piece?













Not here to create any panic, or stir any debate between expensive and cheap makes. But there will be, in some hiccups, quality control issues may even happens to expensive piece that may priced more than 5k(2XXX euro)...

Is it cfm authentic? Could it be svc at 3rd party that cause these problems?

What was the conclusion in the end? Was it a fake? Pam skip qc?

Doubt its fake since Panerai offered to swap out the movements in the end

Just wonder how many of you take apart all your time pieces to "check" the internal parts? (Not counting vintage collectors).



The point being if you paid 300 bucks its ok for this crap but not is you paid 3k or 30K? Enjoy the hobby, high end, low end, mid range. We buy a watch because our wallets allow it, the design, brand, customer service all fit a criteria we are looking for. All of us would like to think we are wise in our purchases whether hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands. The guy who spend less than 1-2K may feel that the person who splurges 10-30k is an idiot for wasting $ and likewise vice versa. Both feel they got quality, finishing and a decent watch. I am not here to judge the decision one makes on paying $X on a watch or anything else.



I am in this for the enjoyment of time pieces and those that others collect regardless of brand or price. If its not a piece I like that someone else bought, I go with the idea that I do not know how to appreciate it, and if its something I find attractive, I am happy that the person got it and it makes their day while I can also appreciate it with them through pics. Starting this sort of a post seems a lot more antagonizing than not IMO. :roll:

agreed.



in the case of the LE Pam, it seemed the buyer felt his/her expectations were not met, thus feeling short-changed.

nevertheless,it was an interesting read.

A lot of factors are relative and based upon perception.



I do not think that paying more would get me more quality. However if I pay the same amount as the person next to me for the same model but have gotten a lower quality good (finishing, defects, not working on first try...), then something must be said.
