Just bought my 2nd Seiko, SSA051K1, anybody knows more about this watch? doesnt seem very popular, but i like the look of it so bought it.



Dont know which year it was made either, is it an old model? couldnt find more information online too! thx in advance!

Wats the serial number on the caseback?

SSA051? Nice looking piece. Very Military inspired... if the hands on indexes lume are grey.. more stealth.

Dun worry... it's a recent release. Not too old. Just several months back.



The SSA series of watches are mostly fitted with 4R37 windable and hackable movement with 24hr indicator, which is more expensive than watches with 4R36/5 movements. Frankly speaking, not really much folks here or in other community will really care about the 24hr indicator, as... it's most of the time useless in practical situation... For less than 2 blue bills, most folks will rather go with 4R36/5 based watches...

i dont know how to see the serial number bro.if just numbers its 231188.

This model is fairly new, as the 4R's were only put into production in the last year or two. Your watch specifically is made in 2012 March (2-3-1188) . The last four digits are just the production number for the month.



The inner bezel is a 'compass', but it's really not all that useful. The instructions should have advised how to use it, but here's another read:

thanks so much for the info! fell in love with the watch and started sourcing it the next few hrs. bought it at wins and was told it was one of the latest. kinda a impulse buy. price wise was given 35% off list price. hopefully didnt get carrot off. anyway after a whole day read of the forum, kinda fell in love with tuna series. but there is just too many different series! will have to learn more accordingly. thanks for the info again!

The compass & the 24hour clock just makes the watch look aesthetically busy. But it's in fact a very simple watch with minimal functions. Date & time?
