Summary: Two automatics with high-frequency movements, the Seiko Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36000 and Zenith Espada, square off in this battle of fast-beat balances.

Re: WRUW 29/05/2013

"Orient Emperor"

One of my first Orient watches....

Great dial.. The markers are stainless steel and they can disappear completely depending on light or look black/gray as in picture..

Cheers

Love the textured dial, script, and the Orient emblem looks so royal. Will definitely have to get one to round off my collection.

Re: WRUW 29/05/2013
This one they are comparing mechanical and hi-beat of 36000 as common factor

Ed, you might be referring to spring-drive?

Which 1 is hybrid?

SD is usually considered by purists as fusion technology comprising of electronics and mechanical technology innovations. Hi-beat is purely mechanical and hence can be compared with Zenith 36k movement.
Re: WRUW 29/05/2013
However, the watch in question is an Automatic...

SD has no beats, the "balance wheel" is spinning all time, regulated with a braking mechanism..

So the watch, Hi-Beat 36000 couldn't be a SD. ;)

Re: WRUW 29/05/2013
GS. It even beats the rest of high end European brands. For non-European brands to win, it must be significantly more superior.
